Butterfield was second choice

Derby were desperate to appease their fans with a new central defender. Wednesday were desperate for a winger. Every potential deal had fallen through with just 10 mins left to the closure of the window. All other clubs' lines were engaged so Wednesday rang Derby to say what have you got left?

Derby asked if we had a spare central defender but Carlos said no. We asked if they had a spare winger but Derby said no, but Butterfield could be shoe-horned in there on the left if required. Carlos said he'd thought of trying Winnall at Centre Back at one point which Rowett thought worth trying if it appeased his club's fans who were baying for a signing.

Rhodes would've gone the other way too, to be swapped with Tom Huddleston, whom Carlos thought could play right back, but as normal Rhodes was 20 mins late for the deadline in signing, and this time Wednesday couldn't find an official to slip £20 to so that one fell apart.

And that my friends is what happened.

Why would you waste time typing sh*** like that

Calm down

I've never had a high opinion of rowett and his collection of school jumpers. He's always the first to say after a defeat we should have won today followed by I'm not blaming the referee but we should have had a penalty or a free kick blah blah blah.So he's left himself short of cover so decides to get his big spoon out and stir some rubbish up No wonder Butterfields glad to be out let's hope he has a point to prove as the derby fans didn't have a high opinion of him either.

Can't believe anybody's surprised at any stupid comment by Rowett he's always been a creep even more surprising when the CC neggers were at their most vociferous Rowett was being spoken off as us 'missing out on him'

At Birmingham he was a whinger and bad loser always bemoaning his teams bad luck - complete pillock can't see him Mel Morris as mates for long.

It's called having a sense of humour - and giving us a laugh!  Nice story Owlsman.
