As far as I'm aware, nobody at the club has ever suggested that stripes are unlucky. The chairman said that he didn't particularly like them.

I don't particularly like beetroot, but I don't think beetroot is unlucky.

It is if you get it on your white yves st laurent shirt.......apparently:sad:

Just got back, numbers slightly down on previous years but weather isn't as good plus some might prefer to go to fireworks display later.

Maybe if they stick to a hot July day like other years, have kit ready to sell etc etc it would be a success like other years ,  watching training /game was good but like everyone else said took 10 min in park and time to leave.

its a real shame they didnt do something special for our 150th birthday.

Im sure they could have made it into a full on event with live music etc, i dont know perhaps Milburn or Reverend etc headlining

Think its time to knock it on the head now and its very loosely tied to SWFC now

Still baffled about why we didn't just have this in July like normal, when at least the weather is a bit more reliable.

I get that this was probably supposed to coincide with a big friendly. But it hasn't. And now it's just another thing we can moan about.

Only Sheffield Wednesday could get something so easy, like an anniversary, so bloody wrong lol

We really must have some right clowns behind the scenes!

Should have been marquee friendly at 12:30pm kick off followed by owls in the park with top local bands playing - cocker, McClure and the rest.  International week so it was all set up for it. Missed a trick big time!

We ended up at cliff park in Rotherham, quite impressive (well compared to anything we have in Chesterfield) no way was I going without kits for sale and hallam FM rubbish.

Needs to be a celebration of all things swfc and the community around the club.

Mind you the cake ball was impressive from.the pics I've seen.

Lets be reight its poo this year. went down with young in earlier watched the match, Then a walk round in park. took ten min. nothing there at all other than a few fair ground rides. bugger all stalls, two burger vans and the star. waste of time

Apart from stand selling kits rest of park didn't look any different to previous years to me,  just as many rides and stalls.

Perhaps with no sunshine its looks less to some eyes.

Just got back.

More people there than I thought there would be.

Quite enjoyed it (mainly due to seeing other Wednesdayites enjoying themselves) and Hillsborough park is a good park to walk round anyway.

It is what it is - the kids enjoy it as much as any other fair, but with added SWFC players. The adults bump into other people they know and have a chat. It's still a great thing for future generations of Owls to have.

Looked like lengthy queues to meet the players, who were all sat down behind a long table. They were signing autographs in a 'sign it and pass it on style'... so everyone probably has exactly the same piece of paper - but it's all good. Not sure if Butterfield was there(?), seeing Kieran Lee is somehow inspiring and Carlos looked dapper (no one was shouting "Carlos out!" in his face - they couldn't get enough of him).

Ozzie Owl was there for photos and high 5's (Ozzie Owl does not have the new kit).

Didn't hear any moans about the kit, just people saying they were going to buy it when it arrived.

Finally, the quality of milf there was fantastic. As a fanbase we are really winning in that area.

nah you could see the gaps where stalls hadn't showed up. all stall areas were marked in white paint and a number where the pitch should go. loads of gaps as you walk round.

fairground was same rides (I think) as young in always goes on same ones. Beer tent tool up a bit of room and then main thing was where players would be signing. lot less there this year and pity anyone who was planning to stay all day to see band and fireworks.

o and on top of all that where was the giant cake at?
