Nope, as he had a man running in on the inside so couldn't commit.

See the pic.

We were better v Oxford because Gregory went off and we started to move their defence back second half.

Yes, we improved after Gregory went off at half-time, we made the breakthrough after wing went off. We didn't sign him as a defensive midfielder his pass completion, key passes and overall rating is worse than Bannan's this season, surprising given you consider Bannan is trying to be the main man and play the hollywood passes.

Dunkley should cover the immediate danger, which is the shot on goal. If the goal scorer plays the pass then someone else is responsible for not covering the midfield run. Yes, there are also clear errors from Johnson and the keeper but Dunkley doesn't do enough.

You are in a very small minority if you think Dunkley and Wing have been performing well but I guess everyone else are sheep and you know best.

If Dunkley slides in, the striker can stop. 1 on 1. He can play a 2 yard ball to the left. 1 on 1. Dunkley's blocking half of the goal and the cross. The only place he can score is the near post. 99/100 this doesn't go in.

If we go back to the start of this conversation, it was about players thinking they were too good for this league.

Wing isn't playing well. He's out of position and his comfort zone. But he's still putting in a disciplined shift every game. He's taking one for the team.

Dunkley's not going to win the ballon d'or but he's not the one losing us games either.

They're both putting in hard shifts. Everyone's complaining about lack of workrate, these two are putting it in and getting slated for it.

Not sure everyone is complaining about a lack of work-rate. They are getting slated because they are under-performing.

In relation to who?

Defensively, they're doing as well as the rest of the team. We have the joint second best defence with only 9 conceded. Dunkley also didn't play v Plymouth. The attacking players aren't exactly setting the world on fire, are they?

So who's outperforming them?

Wing has been our worst midfielder. He wasn't signed as a defensive midfielder so if that is what you are judging him on perhaps it is the managers fault.

Our defensive record is good but again, the manager is asking the team to play from the back, Dunkley can't.

Both dropped today, lets hope we perform better. Not sure about the line-up though, will depend on the formation. Fact is the manager has failed to get anything to work effectively since the first 4 games and is now chopping and changing.

We'll see, Wing doesn't need to play there with Hutch in the side. If Bannan can reign it in, we'll be OK. We didn't sign him as a DM, the ones we did were all out.

He was class for them last season and is currently shining in midfield in our division for a team above us in the table and who have scored double the amount of goals as us this season.

Would he get into our current side? Without a doubt in my opinion so why wouldn't fans want him over inferior players?

Because he was on too much money, had been here too long, was more injury prone, and represented a group of players who we had achieved nothing with....

Yes he has been a good servant to the Club, but it was time for him to move to a new challenge, when released we were(and could have remained) a Championship Club,KL had to drop a division to get a gig

Kieron Lee is the perfect example of players who get better in fans eyes when they don’t play for us anymore.

Read this forum for when Lee was playing for us under Monk. He was apparently past it and not the same player.

I always thought he was still one of our better CMs even under Monk when he played.

Better than Bannan, give over. Bannan spent his time primarily playing deep & pointing at his teammates. Lee was positive & purposeful as ever, supporting attacks & opening up space for his team.

Ive missed that little shimmy and drop of the shoulder

I thought Lee was one of their better players. Doyle should have played Lee through on goal after Lee had robbed the ball off Bannan, and a couple of times Lee played good crosses but the movement of the Bolton strikers was poor.

If Lee was still with us and playing every week I guarantee People would be saying he’s crap and the problem etc

He’d be getting exactly the same stick bannan gets.

Have him back tomorrow

He was the best player on the pitch to be fair. He made a bit of a bàlls up of a chance he should have scored but apart from that looked really good. More than good enough for this league. Glad he’s got a club who appreciate him.
