No Wednesday is better than *this* Wednesday?

It’s not our club anymore. And I know that technically it’s never ‘our club’ - but I’ve never felt such a disconnect.

- I can deal with being poo. I can deal, and have dealt, with watching poor players. Heck, I’d even go as far to say as I’ve enjoyed it at times. It was all part of the adventure.

- I can deal with being in league one. It is what it is, we’ve done it before and we’ve got some good memories from those times. If I wanted to follow a team just for attractive football and to see us against the best teams at the best stadiums then I’d certainly not be supporting Sheffield Wednesday.

I wouldn’t go as far to say as I’d rather we fold. That is just silly. But whilst DC is in charge, OR unless he has a massive change in attitude,  I won’t be putting my money near the club. A year ago I wouldn’t have even thought it be possible that I’d not renew my ST, and in fairness I’ve got a medical issue that will potentially stop me returning to Hillsborough anyway in the near future so that does aid my decision. But again. Im not ‘throwing in the towel’ due to results or us getting relegated. It’s got nothing directly to do with what’s happening on the pitch. We could stay up this season and that would be good. But that would only mask the systematic failures behind the scenes and we’re gonna continue to free fall until things off the pitch are fixed.

I’ll always support whatever 11 enters the pitch from home and back the manager the best I can. Cos I genuinely believe it’s not THEIR fault....they’re doing what they can with the situation they’ve been forced into. But I won’t financially support a chairman who’s said repeatedly that my money doesn’t matter and blames our supporters for the state we’re in, taking no responsibility.

If he changes his attitude, brings in a director of football who actually knows how the game TRULY works at our level, and gives our fans a clear and structured 5-10 year plan (that isn’t just chucking money at it) then I’ll definitely reconsider. I don’t care if the 5-10 year plan involves taking some steps backwards in order to go forwards. I just want some structure and for Wednesday to regain their identity.

Can’t see it happening though.

I honestly wonder what people actually think (or IF they think) before they post stuff like 'trying to destabilise the club)

it's mindblowingly dumb

Happy clapping fans,in my view are allegedly part of the problem......

Quite a few people on social media at the moment trying to destabilise the club.

Not sure why as I'm pretty sure we don't need any outside influence to do that.

If the club really is capable of being destabilised by social media, then we’ve got even more problems than those we all know and are concerned about !

Ruffled a few feathers here I reckon.😁👍

I’m still behind the players and the staff on the ground, so there’s no flounce about it. The question itself implies a binary choice, so perhaps it’s been (rightly) taken as such. Hyperbolic? Yes.

There are other measures and outcomes of course (new owner Chansiri finally sees sense) that would be more favourable, but it’s a hell of a long way back to recover from the mess we’re in.

The club means a lot to me as it does to everybody here and I can’t stand seeing it being dragged through the dirt the way it is. It’s not my intent to say ‘I don’t want a club anymore’, it’s moreso an emotional reaction to an owner who has shown us a great deal of disrespect.

I'll allways prefer wensday playing football rather than not, chansiri wont be the last chairman we have or proberbly the worst in the scheme of things, hes a stubborn div but recently green shoots about him changing some of his behaviour at least, I.e transfer policy/better wage structure/looking for dof and not panic appointing a coach when tomo is doing a madness, just gota see if he sticks with it or reverts back to bad habits, time will tell.

I’ve given up worrying too much about the clubs current situation and what the future may bring.
I’m just going to watch the games, support the Team and the Manager and get as much enjoyment out of the doing so as I can.
It seems that polarised views and very strong opinions are the way the world works now but I just don’t have the emotional depth for it.
No doubt people with my kind of attitude are part of the problem and I should be taking action etc but I just don’t have the bandwidth for it. So the club will continue to get my money and I won’t be attempting to hound out the Chairman particularly. I’ll just snipe a bit at the sidelines and complain while facilitating.
Sorry, but I just like watching the team and talking to my Dad about the games.
Anyway, to all the people with far more motivation and energy than me ‘good luck’ and let me know how you get on 👍🏻

Title says it all. I’d rather the club folded than continue with Chansiri throttling it.

Horrifically poor recruitment of players and staff, constant cash flow problems, total disrespect shown to the supporters, and a childish refusal to accept responsibility for the damage he’s caused have sent the club past the point of no return.

The name can always be re-used in some way for a Phoenix club if it comes to that, but that comes after the fall.

No Wednesday is better than *this* Wednesday.

Isnt this forum supposed to be for supporters. This is ,by no stretch of the imagination,a post by a supporter and you should remove yourself from Owlstalk.

The Club fold.....no Wednesday. I've not spent the best part of my lifetime through the highs and lows of the one thing that's more important than marriages, christenings and holidays etc to even think about it. We,the fans, are the lifeblood of Sheffield Wednesday and we care about our Sheffield Wednesday, that's what puts us apart from any Owner/Chairman that chooses to ignore that.
