trevdi9
The only proper striker we have is Rhodes love him or hate him, the rest are the not so great pretenders ,, And until that is sorted it's goodnight Vienna ,
SiJ
He's hopeless, bit Aguero would struggle to score with this lot.

Absolutely pathetic. Ronio
Agree with the Op, Windass is not a striker. Best position where I think he would thrive would be on the right side of midfield.

He wasn’t without chances tonight, despite how poor we were, how poor the pitch was. It’s just unfortunate that he couldn’t control six yards out, nor could he get an inch closer to reaches cross from the right that he narrowly missed. In scruffy games like tonight’s they are the difference. I’d had thought Paterson does better in both those situations, but we can’t play him every game on his own. Theoretically we've only got 3 strikers at the club Patterson aint one ... Kachunga, Rhodes and Windass ... christ Kachunga is a winger. Not sure what Windass is. Rhodes is a striker but clearly not wanted. If we have any real desire to stay up we need an out and out striker, like Jutkiewicz.

Bing Cosby
For me Windass is a number 10 or a wide forward, I agree that he's never been a lone striker... But Rhodes has never been one either (see spell at Boro) and Kachunga could never play that role... Yet we persist with it!?
Orlando_Trustful
He isn't a striker for me. This reminds me of the FF situation where he should be playing out wide and not up front.

shezzas left peg
He needs to be playing in a two off a striker. Played up top he's more like a number 10, so it dosent work. Would have probably scored for fun in a two alongside a hooper, fletcher or even Nuhiu. He's a bit of pace and an eye for goal as he showed last night a whisker away from that header. His game if played up top is coming onto flick ons, knock downs or mistakes not trying to hold the ball up or trying to win headers against defenders 4/5 inches taller and a couple of stones heavier.

areNOTwhatTHEYseem
I rate Windass, but playing him upfront on his own is ridiculous. He's a number ten who should be playing off a target man if we're to get the best out of him. Expecting him to win aerial duels and hold the ball up is mad. Watching the game last night, I had no idea how we thought we were going to score a goal - what was the plan they were working to?

More of the same and we go down. Had any other striker on our books in recent history played almost every game and scored a goal every 500 minutes we’d have the torches and pitchforks out. Probably yes, but it’s clear we don’t have a pairing at the club. Personally, I don’t rate Windass, or Paterson, and can’t believe we payed the best part of a million to bring them here. Sadly they are here, so it’s a case of how do we get the most out of them. We need a mobile target man, a player who can bring the best out of the players we currently have
CircleSeven
I like Windass and think he is a decent player but 100% agree that up front on his own is definitely not going to keep us up. He simply and evidently isn’t a lone striker! It’s a joke that we stick with it. But in all honesty it’s hard to see an alternative in the current squad that would work any better. DIPPS_S.W.F.C
When we played Rhodes and Windass behind him straight down the middle I thought they actu3played ok,movement and passes to each other etc.Looked like they had an understanding. The only thing missing wad the service. Then we go one up top....???.. Why??..
WhiteOwl91
I wasn't even a Nuhiu fan and was absolutely in favour of a clear out, but why on earth did we release him and then not even attempt to replace him? At least he got us up the pitch and others could play off him.
