Iorfa being tracked by Watford

Recommended Posts

Laughable really that Watford are in a position to come and pick off our best players.

- Tiny Ground

- Small supporter base

- Little to no history

Why a player would want to leave to join them when in the same division is beyond me...

Oh because they’ve got loads of money for failure from the Premier League!

As other as have now said, £10m way too low to sell, particularly in our current predicament.

Think what it would cost our club long term if we fail to replace him adequately and are relegated this season.

Will it be worth the £10m then?

If we get 10 million it's a no brainer.

Bring in a striker . Centre halfs are alot cheaper I'm sure there's someone out there rotting in a prem reserves.

I also think Liam Shaw isn't far off at all.

Sounds great. But isn’t it far more likely that the £10m will stay in DC’s bank account while he assessed our and his future in these difficult times?

Not sure.

Depends how strapped DC is.

He won't want us to go down.

Nonsense.

This would send the club packing to league one.  You don't ship out a field marshall like iorfa and hope to recoup that with only 2 weeks left in transfer period.

We need absolute consolidation right now.

I don't think would turn down 10 million.

But that's just an arbitrary figure invented in this thread anyway so we shall see.

Classic fan response.

Every player has a price.

This unwillingness to sell has been part of our downfall in recent times.

We will always replace players.

Very, very happy to sell for the right price.

Just as selling our best players has contributed to our downfall.

Still, at least you seem confident that we can simply replace our stand out player of the season so I’ll stop worrying then.

I’ll look forward to seeing Börner trundle around in a three man defence whilst the management  sift through the list of top quality quick powerful talismanic defenders fighting to join the ranks of a club on minus eight points.

which “best players” have we sold in their prime in the last 5 years?

I can’t think of one.

We should have sold the likes of FF, Lees, Reach when they were at their peak to balance the books.

We criticised DC for screwing up our finances by not selling.

Not selling contributed to us having to use grubby fiddles.

It's imperative we make at least one big sale per season or our business model will fail again.

Anyone saying don't sell is contributing to the problem.

We are a business not a family.

But the situation now and then is different. We had a glut of big money signings with big wages. Except Rhodes which was a few years ago anyway , we haven’t spent more than 500k on any off our squad and with the exception of him and Westwood all the really big earners have gone. We don’t need to compound this by selling our best players to our rivals. Especially as the only real way around these stupid rules are to get promoted.
