I thought they claimed “the oldest professional football stadium in the world”, conveniently forgetting it was originally a cricket stadium and we played there before they ever did.

Playing with words, "professional"?. Field Mill (Mansfield Town) is older.

With every team outside the bottom 3 averaging over a point a game, 38 looks like a conservative estimate to stay up.

That wouid require 1.8 points per game- more than Liverpool have averaged so far.

Their next 3

West Ham A

Fulham A

Liverpool H

Even giving them a generous 4 points from those 3, the average required after that will be  over 1.9.

I'm starting to feel comfortable lol

Watch them try and spin finishing second bottom as some kind of great achievement

They're already actually jubilant that they've already matched Derby's low points record.

Fantastic effort after only spending a humble £50m+ strengthening the squad that finished top half last time.

Guardian in thier preview of West Ham v Blades said ..

A win for Blades and a loss for Fulham could take the Blades up to 1 point from 18th.

Rather ignoring it's a 10 point gap to 17th and those teams have a game in hand

Pity they didn't mention the placings if Fulham won & so did West Ham.
