Fox could not play as a wing back to save his life If he had stayed he would be used in back 3. he lacks mobility to play wing back. It was only when we stopped playing silly full back role right high up field with defensive responsibilities did his form improve. He is old fashioned full back.

Brown is 60 minute player excellent in first half but fades after 60 minutes. Check his stats.

Big plus in midfield this season is Loungo who is playing very well, best defensive midfield performances seen in quite a while in Owls shirt.

Windass is pace option up front we did not have before but loss of Fletcher is a blow. Patterson will improve work rate considerably and may mitigate loss of Fletcher.

There are merits in all of the players we’ve signed, but I’d still maintain that only one should be a guaranteed starter, and that’s Brown. Not sure that he is only a 60 min player, although he’s probably having to a lot more pressing than he’d previously been asked to do. Hopefully, when we get some better forwards, he, and all the other midfielders can show off their creative talents as well. In the meantime, it works out just fine, when he tires, it’s game minutes for Bish or Hunt.
What it looks like we’ve done, is recruit the fabric of a hardworking side, and now we have to go and get the jewels Like I said, we’ve done the easy part, now we need to recruit the players, like Brown, who have that extra bit of quality. To not do so, as happened last season, for whatever reason, and we might find ourselves struggling to avoid the drop

We need some players who will make the starting eleven better At the moment only Brown does that, and the rest of the team are either the same, or no better, than last season’s team It’s been a lot of huff and puff without actually achieving much.

Agree that any signing we make should be with a view to improving the starting eleven but surely Windass comes into that category.

5 goals and an assist in 6 games so far this season looks like he might be in last year of his contract aswell

I have never seen him play but if we are looking at somebody from Ross Town then probably worth a look.

He is 5ft 9in plays in a pair up front with 6ft 2in chap sohe would be the mobile one of the pair. Was released by Norwich in 2019 on free transfer they have some good players through Academy so has probably been well schooled.

Just had a look at few different places for an idea of what he's like and looks to have some pace about him, and has started the season well by all accounts could be a cheap option maybe 200k or so might be enough and he's young enough that if he's not where we need him to be there's a resale value

He looks a useful addition, but probably only starts because we haven’t recruited any decent strikers
