MONK OUT!!! Total embarrassment

Recommended Posts

Guest The Horse

A few people in this thread saying that Monk is only here until the end of the season.

Any truth in this?

If so, I'm kind of seeing DC's thinking in appointing him after what he did with Brum and their situation.

When do we get to know about the points deduction. Thought it would be imminent.

Think it's more the manner of everything that's winding people up. The whole team just seems to be going backwards (in every sense of the word ), and with the new players in the team today it's an even greater sense of deflation. The feel-good factor of the last few days has ended up with absolutely nothing changing on the pitch.

It is quite amazing to see so many professional footballers fail to make a 5 yard pass it has to be said.

Why hasn’t he got his own coaches in place? We expect a different outcome from the players listening to the experts in past failure. We have to be pragmatic and get rid of Bullen and co in the summer and let Monk bring his own guys in. He seems to be trying to do a job with his hands tied.

The football is worse than under jos. I dread to think of the season ticket sales at the moment.

He’s inherited a mess but clearly not the right man. It needs a leader, a character, someone to bring the fans with them. If he gets to the summer I seriously worry for next season.

You can’t just keep on sacking manager after manager, we’ll get nowhere.

Monk wasn’t my first choice as manager but this group of players aren’t his, he’s having to play players he probably doesn’t rate, not his fault, he didn’t bring them in and he hasn’t had much chance to replace them.

We have got to give him time, he needs at least to summer transfer windows to build his side how he wants it.

There are too many players at the club pulling in big wages and not performing, too many players too comfortable. Let him ship it the deadwood this summer and bring his own players in, then let’s see how he does.

You can't be top 6 for half a season by fluke. Monk's one dimensional approach hasn't worked since Fletcher got injured. He is not adaptable. The players performances haven't been good enough either but the tactics are poor, we don't have a defined way of playing.

Fletcher had been the best striker in the league this season that helped . We over performed for a few weeks granted and looked solid . Now this is the real Wednesday , gutless clueless never beens . Carlos was crap , Jos was crap , bullen was crap now monk is crap . Surely can’t always be the manager can it

Our club needs a complete clear out and start again. We are going nowhere as we are.

Utterly clueless

This.

Monk hasn't got the players delivering over the last few months, but he's not the first manager to suffer that here in recent years and he wouldn't be the last if we gave the job to someone else.

We need a complete clear out of the squad, an experienced footballing CEO or director of football and chansiris mate Mr P f*cking off for good.

The whole project needs starting again, otherwise we'll meander downwards indefinitely.

So it’s not the fact the players are crap then ?

That's right. What's the odds on a squad of around 30 (mostly-) good players turning cr@p in 1 season, versus 3 random managers cr@pping all over their chances in the same space of time? First one lost the dressing room, second one arrived late, then caught the next bus out, third one hasn't even found the S-0-DD-1-NG place, and the owner looks sick every time he shows up!

Because Barnsley are crap, and we're the worst team according to them we have played at oakwell.

Despite their league position, Barnsley have lost only two of their last ten league games at Oakwell; it was never going to be an easy game.

With three new attacking players making full debuts as well as Forestieri returning from injury, it's no surprise that we looked a little disjointed today. Given time to learn each other's games, hopefully they'll come good.

We were overachieving to be 3rd at Christmas and have simply reverted to the mean since, which was compounded by the loss of our only consistent forward in Fletcher.

How anybody looks at our squad and sees genuine promotion potential, I have no idea: we have only one left-back; a first-choice right-back who's provided four assists in his past five seasons at this level; a centre-back pairing who cost £300k between them; and prior to today, the choice of Winnall, Nuhiu or Rhodes upfront.

That we're hovering around mid-table should come as no great surprise.
