I watched Everton vs West Ham earlier and to be honest, it was just as bad in that game. Referee was abysmal, particularly towards Everton.

True.

I do think we get some real crap at Championship level.

That Stroud fella last night was just awful. A foul given for pretty much every single time we went near a Cardiff player; let alone tackle one.

Sure he would have added an extra few minutes of injury time for them to get an equaliser if they needed it.

When its matches on sky ,they should have a ref coordinater in the studio ,he makes notes of the refs performance

Then reads it out live

Would stop refs been crapp at games if they was to get mocked live on national TV

all this criticism of referees and yet the other week on the VAR  thread probably 90% were against having it in the championship …...1 week later we have 100% whinging about a crap decision . …..refs arnt going to get any better so why not use technology ?.....its not fool proof I know but its probably better than a crap ref .

Strouds a proper homer, hes no balls, hes one of the worst in the championship, you dread him away love him at home, but letting them get away with those antics at the FK should surely see him demoted now,or get yet another 28 day rest FFS!

Could be something in that, we've only won 1 of the last 9 games he's reffed us in (at Leeds in the snow) and 7 of those were away from home. But I've no wish to see him ref us again to put it to the test.

He also denied us 2 points at Derby last season the last time he reffed us before Friday, ruling out a perfectly good WInnall goal, and he started the "Forestieri is a diver" trend by giving him a second yellow for not actually diving at Preston.

Had a quick look on the Cardiff forum earlier, even their fans are saying how bad a referee he is and how poor he was on Friday night.

Most are also saying the goal should not have stood, but obviously happy it did as would we if it happened the other way round.

Says a lot when both sets of fans are giving the referee grief.

No point crying over spilt milk though, it happened and we need to move on., nothing will be done about it.

3 years ago at 1-1 with Hull Bannan was about to shoot in a great position in the last minute when Stroud "accidentally" got in his way. Can't remember who was the ref but the last ime we were away at Cardiif exacvtly the same thing happened. 1-0 up, last minute, a Cardiff player dives at the edge of the area and they score the free kick. Deliberate tactic, can't understand fans giving Warnock any praise at all, he has always been a downright cheat.

Unfortunately not. He's due to ref Derby and Wigan on Wednesday night.

the only 'accountability' is when a world cup comes up, and we haven't a single official chosen to be there, despite the finals now having grown to twice the number of games.

that's the truth of the fa's system, it a ****ing failure, as are the old farts running it.

That's exactly what I've been thinking about the standard of refs in england for some time. It's difficult to prove corruption accusations, but incompetence is clearly demonstrated week in week out, and as you say, the 'accountability' or if you prefer, the proof of the pudding, is that even FIFA (not unknown for their own levels of corruption) think our refs aren't good enough to officiate at the world cup! There was a time when the best refs in the world were usually from Britain, but now we just see rank incompetence protected by an 'omerta' like silence from the authorities.

Think the reason we had no refs there last year was something to do with Mark Clattenburg being chosen and in the interim him quitting as a referee to go to Saudi Arabia or something. We were unable to select a replacement

Standard is awful though. It’s not just at our level.. with VAR it’s becoming a farce in the Prem
