  1. QPR have had a £1.5 million bid rejected by Charlton Athletic for striker Macauley Bonne, as per a report by Wales Online. The Addicks are seemingly holding out for more money with the likes of Swansea City, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley also linked with a move for him.
  2. Forgot they’d got Zach Clough..... Nottingham Forest are reportedly trying to offload a minimum of five players before the transfer window closes next month. That’s according to The Athletic’s Forest correspondent Paul Taylor who made the claim on Twitter. Michael Hefele and Yohan Benalouane are set to be deemed surplus to requirements with Scott McKenna set to check in from Aberdeen. Winger Albert Adomah is another player not currently training with the first-team and he’s not thought to be in Sabri Lamouchi’s plans either. The ex-Middlesbrough player went on loan to Cardiff City last season but is now way down the pecking order. Another is Zach Clough who hasn’t played for the Reds since January 2018 during a 2-0 win over Wolves. The forward signed for the Reds in 2017 from Bolton and at £2.5 million it seemed as though he would be a steal. Sadly, things haven’t worked out and a number of managers haven’t fancied him to make an impact on the team. Another who the club are working to offload is left-back Gaetan Bong, who has played just once since signing from Brighton. He lasted just under an hour of a 1-0 defeat to Charlton in February and has barely been seen in the first-team fold since. The club would like to get the 32-year-old off the books, with just a year left on his current contract.
  3. Sheffield Wednesday are running the rule over former Liverpool youngster Marley Blair. The 20-year-old winger is on trial with the Owls and featured for the club's Under-23s in their 1-0 defeat to Barnsley at Stocksbridge this afternoon.
  4. Coventry City are interested in Dundee United striker Lawrence Shankland, as per a report by the Courier. The Sky Blues sent scouts to watch the Scotland international in action against St Mirren at the weekend, a game in which he scored in. Shankland, who is 25 years old, has been prolific over the past few seasons and it is no surprise to see Coventry keeping tabs on his progress.
  5. Huddersfield Town have agreed a fee with Portuguese giants Benfica for midfielder Chris Willock according to the Daily Mail. It is also claimed that Rangers, Derby, QPR and Bournemouth are keeping tabs on the development involving Huddersfield’s attempt to get this deal over the line.
  6. Derby County and Preston North End have made approaches to sign Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis, Football Insider can reveal. The Midlands giants could have a decision to make on the immediate future of the 22-year-old as they look to secure him to a new contract.
  7. Huddersfield Town’s Alex Pritchard could be set for a return to Championship rivals Norwich City or Brentford in a £6 million deal before the transfer window closes.
  8. Sheffield Wednesday remain interested in doing a loan deal for Kenneth Zohore this summer, but it’s emerged that West Brom have slapped an £8m fee on the striker’s head in a bid to raise funds. (The Athletic)
  9. Birmingham City are close to securing the signing of experienced and versatile Spain international Mikel San Jose, according to BBC West Midlands reporter Richard Wilford. San Jose is currently a free agent after leaving Athletic Bilbao after a decade with the Spanish side where he managed to make over 300 appearances. The 31-year-old has been a key player for the Spanish club throughout his time there, but he was limited to just nine appearances in the league last campaign. The one time Spain international has the ability to play both as a central defensive midfielder and as a centre-back, which would make him a potentially ideal option for the Blues to provide extra depth and quality in two key areas of their squad.
  10. Think they’re referring to Lukas Jutkiewicz, but Brum fans actually call him ‘Juke’ 🤷🏻‍♂️
  11. Stoke City have opened talks to sign former Sheffield United right-back Kieron Freeman on a free transfer, Football Insider understands. The 28-year-old defender is currently without a club after he left Bramall Lane at the end of his contract earlier this year.
  12. Brum look to be putting a decent squad together..... Birmingham City are hoping to make Tottenham winger Jack Clarke their ninth arrival of the summer transfer window.
  13. Barnsley are ‘interested’ in a move for Charlton Athletic striker Macauley Bonne, as per a report by talkSPORT. The Tykes are looking to rival QPR and another unnamed Championship side to sign the Zimbabwe international.
  14. Brentford have agreed a deal with Amiens to sign attacking midfielder Saman Ghoddos, Football Insider understands. The Ligue 2 outfit have given the Iraq international the green light to leave the club after their relegation from France’s top flight last season.
  15. Nottingham Forest are set to complete the signing of Fulham defender Cyrus Christie, with the player set to arrive at the City Ground by the weekend.
  16. AITOR KARANKA HAS BOLSTERED BLUES STRIKER OPTIONS BY SIGNING SCOTT HOGAN FROM ASTON VILLA ON A PERMANENT TRANSFER. Hogan has penned a four-year deal, for an undisclosed fee. Hogan, 28, returns to the St. Andrew's Trillion Trophy Stadium following a successful loan spell last season.
  17. According to a claim in the Greek media, Middlesbrough are very close to completing the signing of PAOK striker Chuba Akpom. The 24 year old, who has also been linked with Super Lig sides Besiktas and Fenerbahce in recent weeks, is now expected to join Middlesbrough in the next few days, say Sdna. It’s reported the Championship club will pay €3m to PAOK for the attacker.
  18. apparently from Steve Bruce’s press conference this morning..... Murphy is also available for transfer should an acceptable bid get offered for the winger, which will undoubtedly leave the likes of Forest and Wednesday on red-alert.
  19. Would love Lazaar back here if he wasn’t so injury prone....... Newcastle United need to move on a number of players and Steve Bruce has on Monday named five who definitely need to find new clubs. Yoshinori Muto is one of the five, along with Henri Saivet and Christian Atsu. The quintet completed by Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons who earlier today were reported to have turned down pay-offs offered by the club to get them out early, rather than sitting out this last year of their contracts.
  20. Reading are expected to complete the initial loan signing of Pedro Mendes in the coming days, with the striker joining from Sporting Lisbon.
  21. I live in Walsall and have a few mates that are West Brom season ticket holders and none of them have anything positive to say about Zohore. I stated that he hadn’t impressed me that much at Cardiff or West Brom and this is the response from one of them... “Can only agree. He might be the type of player however who would work better in a two - which we have never afforded him a chance in so doing. For a big, tall chap he does need to learn how to use his body mass to a better effect. The potential is there - it just needs to be coaxed out of him......step in Gary Monk 🤔” However, they all agreed that they also hadn’t got a good word for Jacob Murphy either during his time with them and that he looked a totally different player during his time at Wednesday 🤷🏻‍♂️ Sounds a big risk to me, unless he Is prepared to come here on a salary in line with our current budget. 🤔
  22. If Zohore is on £50k a week and still has three years to run on his contract, then I can’t see him coming here unless West Brom are prepared to fill the boot of his car with cash before he leaves......
  23. Daily Mail report that striker Kenneth Zohore will hold talks over a loan move to Sheffield Wednesday on Monday. Manager Slaven Bilic is prepared to let the £8million signing from Cardiff City leave with the Dane failing to have the desired impact at the Hawthorns. Zohore had interest from Italy and Turkey also but is open to joining Garry Monk at Hillsborough if terms can be agreed.
  24. Glasgow Times reporting that Derby County and Nottingham Forest target Jacob Murphy wants to join Rangers on loan from Newcastle United this summer.
