Early predictions for Monk's first line-up

Recommended Posts

Monk is 4-4-2 attacking, Big man and little(ish) man up top, pace on wings with sold full backs but plenty of energy..

This is what I would go with if Lees is injured

------------Westood----------

Palmer Bates Borner Fox

Reach-Luongo-Bannan-Harris

-------Fletcher--Rhodes------

just had a thought, weren't it Nuhiu and Fletch up top when Nuhui bagged all them goals?

I know it goes against the little and large of Che Adams & Jutkiewicz but I don't actually want to play Rhodes as he's cack, Winnall doesn't look fit, maybe Nuhiu and Fletch?

He seemed to do well with Fletch as he wasn't the main target man which actually suited him weirdly enough, that forward line will terrify a shakey Huddersfield defence

If he’s a good manager, and I expect he is, he won’t be a 442 man or a 433 man etc...Instead, he will look at the tools at his disposal and decide what is their best formation.

I would be surprised if we don’t line up in a 433/451 at Hudersfield, with 11 square pegs in 11 square holes.

Westwood

Palmer Bates Borner Fox

Harris Lee Hutchinson Bannan Reach

Fletcher

That's what you'd go for. But the title is Monk's first line up.

Hoping Rhodes is nowhere near the starting line up!

I'd like to thing he'd bring in Lee to the midfield - looking at the training video, Lee looks sharp and with some quick movement.

Monk was at the QPR game, so hopefully he changes the formation or personnel - full backs were woeful.

Bannan is a conundrum - can affect the game positively but he needs others in the midfield to do the graft. Up front, keep Fletch as an out-n-out striker but play Reach and Harris just behind and wide but use their energy to drift in from the wing when required - Harris is too static out wide for me.

                                                                 Fletcher

                              Reach                                                           Harris

Fox                                          Bannan/Luongo                 Lee/Luongo                     Odubajo/Iorfa

                                 Hutch                     Lees              Borner

                                                               Westwood
