Early predictions for Monk's first line-up

I didn't see Bates at Rotherham so haven't really got anything to go on.

Hutchinson is really a natural defender and, arguably, a better right sided centra back and captain than Lees so there's no shoe horning as such (I would do a Stuart Gray smiley if there was one).

Hutch a better centre back than Lees?

Surely this isn't serious...

Westwood

Palmer Borner Thorniley Fox

Reach Bannan Hutchinson Harris

Fletcher Winnall

Subs:

Dawson, Bates, Iorfa, Luongo, Lee, Murphy, Nuhiu

Don’t think that’ll be his settled lineup but I can see that being his first team.

I've thought Winnall has looked well short in the games that he's played.

He might get sharper with games...but Monk will surely want to pick a team that hits the ground running.

Winnalls legs have gone Snoots

Hes finished ....

That injury has done him

If he was any good he'd be in the team by now .

Value for money is zero on this one ..

I just have a feeling he may use 2 strikers up top. Rhodes or Winnall may get an opportunity under Monk.

When we had Hooper I was a huge fan of 442. Hooper and Fletcher was a great partnership.

Right now I don’t see it.

I’d go with Luongo and Lee in the middle

I’ve had enough of Hutchinson and Bannan playing centre half all game, if they drop any deeper into they’ll be playing in goal soon

All about management.

Bruce got them playing higher up the field. If allowed to drop deep they will.

I think back back to Leeds stuffing us at home under Monk. They looked electric even away from home. I hope we see similar attacking intent.

Agree with that, we always look better playing in the opposition half.

I did say arguably:)

He is a better footballer tho and a natural defender so I don’t see why not.

when he did play there he played alongside Lees which didn’t really work. He never really played alongside Loovens or Hector so it’s hard to make a true comparison.

With Luongo been on international duty for Australia, I think it forces his hand a bit to be honest.

The midfield is desperate for a shake up, but with only Luongo not arriving back from international duty til later in the week, I suspect we'll see the same midfield we've seen so far for the mostpart, Hutchinson-Bannan-Lee.

Can't see past him playing a 4-3-3. Bates will come in for Lees if he's not fit. Harris and Reach will be either side of Fletcher.  Suspect Odubajo and Fox will get the nod at full back.
