Marvin Plattenhardt. LB, played under Jos at Hertha . 6 caps for Germany

Plattenhardt is a top class defender who may well start at left back for Germany at the World Cup and will probably move to a very big hitter after the tournament. We haven’t a hope in hell I'm afraid.

Chelsea Sam Hutchinson, Everton Ross Barkley, Ian Tunrer, Liverpool Brad Jones - to name a few we have had in the past.

Djordjic and Eagles from Man Utd. Carson from Liverpool

We’ve not had much luck with Chelsea’s younger players

Jimmy Smith was crap (and he did end up playing in the lower league), Leon knight (same), Lewis Baker (lasted a month).

Cant’t remember any other top club lending is a player.

We had Sanchez watt from arsenal another poor player

Whatshisname, who danced around several defenders, several times over, then flicked the ball over the defender’s head.

Liked him. Whatever he was called.

ps - should this be in the quiz section lol

You are thinking of me.......a while ago now though.

You were more of a fluent, silky, defender I recall, you were a bit like Alan Hansen.

Playing like a player of his stature, even though he’s 62 now, is not to be sneered at btw.

lol

Ps - Only joking.

Best loanee for me was Eric McMordie from Middlesbrough in 1974.

Scored 6 goals in 9 matches during a 2 month loan spell from October to December.  We couldn't agree terms with him to make the deal permanent. He ended up as our leading scorer as we were relegated to the old Division 3.

I think it was Lewis Baker that did it for us with Chelsea, but agree some time ago.

But Middlewood is not rated highly, only cat 2 (think more about facilities than coaches who are clearly doing a great job).

And 36 out of 86 in terms of producing league players (other cat 2, Leeds 12th, Blades 24th).

Or Kenwyne Jones 7 goals in 7 games could have signed him for £500k but Dave Allen would not have it, then signed for Sunderland a few year later for £6m

I think Adam Maher wasn't spotted, more staying in a hotel where they were aware his profession was a footballer.

Could be coincidence.
