Can't prepare for giving a penalty away in the first three minutes

You would have to assume that the player would have taken that opportunity had he not be brought down (or at very least, might have scored). And by that time, it was the second goal scoring opportunity in the game and was followed by another chance that should have been taken but hit the post. All of that before we even got into the game. So it more or less backs up the point the OP is making.

Should maybe add to that, Leeds had at least two clear chances in the early stages of that match. Fortunately, we got away with it on that occasion.

You can prepare not to get yourself into a situation where you're forced to concede a penalty in the first three minutes.

Today, in the first 12 minutes of play, Derby had had THREE one-on-one's.

That's inexcusable.

And that's, away from home, when we should be been solid and compact.

Maybe we do prepare, but other teams do their homework too. I could tell a team exactly what to do against Wednesday. Press and attack us early on, get in our faces and close us down because our players simply can’t stand it. Attack us down the flanks, particularly the left. Simply try and score early and you will.

In the meantime Wednesday will

play slow, tippy tappy sideways and backwards football (which is exactly how we stared today) meaning less distance to go towards goal when you win the ball.

Wednesday are so predictable.

Great stat. And adds more weight as if any were needed to the argument for relieving Carlos of his duties as soon as possible.

We start slow. We've always started slow. It's getting worse and the manager is utterly unable to address it.

38% of Sheffield Wed's conceded goals occurred in the first 15 minutes. 31% of Sheffield Wed's conceded goals occurred after the 75th minute.

Couple of the safest bets in football at the moment, Wednesday to be losing after 15 minutes, and an extra goal to be scored in the Wednesday game after 75 minutes

I could never understand those that turn up after the match has kicked off and then leave early to avoid the traffic.

But this season it looks like they maybe onto something!

No but you can prepare to be alert, switched on and NOT give the opportunity of a penalty in the first three minutes. Sorry bud, but you really need to take the blinkers off and open your eyes to what everyone bar Carlos and a few others can see.
