We always end a teams bad run

Recommended Posts

Bolton are not just bottom, there down and out. lost 8 in a row not scored in last 8 games . but put 3 past our sorry lot in august that was last time they scored.  no excuses today players on upto 50k a week perform end of . nothing less than a decent win will do,no hanging onto a 1-0 win.

Yeah come on @Holmowl. You must have some stats on this. We ended Birmingham's appalling run without a win the other week. Last season we drew against Bristol City after they'd lost their previous 6 matches. Only one we didn't fall to was Rotherham who spent most of last season losing including twice to us. Mind you the match against them at Hillsborough was one of the poorest I've seen despite winning.

Do we actually have any information on this?  A framework for pinpointing instances when a club might be said to end another club's bad run (eg Fulham ending our bad run earlier in the season); and then an index to show how many time in the past [x] seasons each [championship] team triggers the criterion?

Or is it just a matter of confirmation bias?

Play like we did against Leeds and we should win comfortably again. Despite the mixed start we've shown signs of playing some of the exciting football we showed in Carlos' debut season. This next month between international breaks is crucial.

In some respects this is the most important game of the season so far. Reason i say that is it's coming off the back of a great result/performance against Leeds playing POSITIVE FOOTBALL and this is the sort of game CC has to continue in that vein. Revert back to negative tactics and come up with a disappointing result and CC really shouldn't be still in a job come Monday morning. Show the same attacking endeavour today and it could transform our season going forward becaue we will have momentum.  They are there for the taking and there will be no excuses if we fail today. Let's fecking smash them FFS.
