We always end a teams bad run

Recommended Posts

Two classic examples for me

Jeff telling us Morrison for palace had scored 18 goals but non away from home

One slide rule back pass later set him on his way a few minutes later he got his second !

Savo Milosevic for Villa, laughing stock couldn't buy a goal

Lee Briscoe clears his lines near the corner flag ......ball lands under OUR bar where even Savo couldn't miss

Following an appalling display against sheff utd, a terrible one against Brum and then a corker against Leeds anything other than a win today unacceptable.

It's this complete inconsistent mess week in week out that should have seen the end of Carlos.

However, a good display today and a win could be the sign of us kicking into gear

Wait and see

No team, however bad they are, fails to score and loses every week. Look at Palace today. No wins, no goals, all of a sudden, they beat Chelsea. Even Rotherham last year "only" lost ten in a row at most - and they only got 23 points in the whole season. When Derby got just 11 points in the 2007-08 premier league, their worst losing streak was 7. Yes, it might seem, especially after today, that for teams on a losing run, we're the best side to play, but I'm sure if you worked it out you'd probably find that once a team gets past 6 or 7 defeats, they're probably more likely to avoid defeat in the next game than lose again. Bristol City last season is a good example. Yes, they'd lost 8 league games in a row when they played us. But they weren't getting thrashed every week; they lost every one of those games by 1 goal. Another thing is that if we play teams on a bad run early on in that run, we never notice it, because we don't pay attention to that team afterwards.
