Return to the Championship Transfer Rumour MEGATHREAD (In memory of Gurujuan)

This will be a tough tough summer for Moore. How much do you break up a record-breaking, promotion winning team.

Everyone realistically agrees it needs to be done, but it is vital to keep the momentum from the squad

Sam Hughes from Burton - Burton Player of the Year -

26 yo centre half. Know he was definitely on one of our lists (maybe just L1).  He has had serious injuries which hampered his career at Leicester but played 49 games last year.

It's tricky, isn't it?

We definitely need to bring down the average age of our squad, but our older players are generally our better ones!

We need to recruit all over the pitch.

It's music to my ears that we are looking to lower the average squad age. Hopefully a key component to that will be pace, which we are missing and is increasingly essential the higher up the leagues you go.

Quite a lot are getting their knickers in a twist already. Trust a manager who has given us 2 decent-very good seasons. His recruitment has been a lot more hit than miss particularly when it comes to strikers.

Two free agents I would like us to look at.

Josh Key - Exeter:

24 year old RWB who has scored at Hillsborough playing as a make shift striker. Has internet from Swansea & Blackburn.

Regan Poole - Lincoln:

24 year old who has primarily played at RCB & RWB. Been part of that awkward Lincoln defence and captained the side since September 2022. Has interest from Bristol City.

Both the sort of established younger signings that we see other clubs make and turn them into top end Championship players over 3/4 years.
