Weird, don’t recall telling anyone what to do with their money. Are you okay ‘mate’?

Ok, I’ll indulge…

Maybe not word for word, but you certainly give the insinuation he shouldn’t have sued the club, and that his actions were correctly punished by the club.

I’m fine thanks, how are you?

I totally agree with what you are saying.

But wow! That’s delivered in a condescending manner.

Imagine, if you will, that you are the Director of a business. A fellow Director has a difference of opinion with you. The consensus of opinion amongst fellow Directors makes it clear that the overriding opinion is that you are right and your fellow Director is wrong.

Furthermore, ethics and moral ideology are on your side not your fellow Director.

However, instead of simply explaining your stance and taking the win you decide to goad your fellow Director about what his likely next move is and then tell him to look in the mirror.

You then tell him to look in the mirror again in case the first one didn’t sink in.

Then point at your rivals across the street - if Joe Bloggs Ltd did that you’d be goading them.

Your fellow Director falls to his knees behind his desk, grasping his chest.

”You look ridiculous” you say before scissor kicking him in the head on your way out.

———————————————————————-

All of a sudden - you’ve gone from your fellow Directors thinking you are smart, measured and insightful to them thinking actually, you’re just a bit of a ****.

I am a bit of a ****, so I really don't mind

It's impossible to quantify the stupidity of the club on this...there must be SOMEONE at the club who can say to Chansiri " hold on this is detrimental to all the good work over the last season " Perhaps Darren Moore could have a word ?

I paid up front for a season ticket.

260 mile round trip for every game didn't bother me.

The pandemic wasn't the clubs fault.

I took the credit option as I understood the financial implications of taking money, which had probably been already spent, out of the club.

I would never dream of taking my club to court.

My daughter actually owes me more money, but I am not taking her to court either....

Can't wait for Saturday.....as watching Wednesday play is what I want to do.

Good for you

Playing devils advocate.
If they intended to get a season ticket then why ask for a refund and take the club to court. The balance was already credited to their account and could have been used to help buy a new season ticket, That’s what I did.

Need clarity from the club regarding their side of things.

Not good PR either way

I never realised football clubs were the only ones who suffered any sort of financial implications of the pandemic.

I am dumbfounded with how many are siding with the club over this on Twitter.

The way Wednesday handled the refunds was beyond poor.

It was very poor. It was however clearly because we didn’t have enough cash in reserve to pay it all back. Which is poor but the position we were in. It was clear that we were in financial strife.

Suing the club just meant you jumped the queue past other Wednesdayites  and it cost the club more money. it doesn’t excuse the poor way the club dealt with the issue and how they communicated their decision with the fans but let’s not make out the fans who sued the club did it for anyone but themselves. Not for the club and not for other fans.

I’m sorry it’s impacted them as it has but sometimes when you put yourself ahead of other fans it’s going to have consequences.

Didn’t stop us paying cash fees for Paterson & Windass? Didn’t stop us having to pay off Monk, Pulis & pay Doncaster for Moore?

You’re in no position to decide what was right for the fan or not.

Like I said a few pages back, what if he lost his job due to the pandemic? What if he’s now back on his feet and can afford to return.

No one wins from this.

It’s nothing short of embarrassing.

This was around the same time we gave Bannan a new contract on a reported £27k per week and signed something like 10 new players on Championship wages so saying we had Cash flow problems doesn't add up for me.

If the choice was I waited a bit longer for my refund and we were able to keep the playing squad at a better level then I’m glad to be honest. I’m not saying that was right for everyone. I not trying to speak for all season ticket holders.

it is also the same time when we were failing to pay player wages so I think there probably was a cash slow problem.

You were prepared to wait indefinitely, fair enough.
I had about 3 or 4 things planned for Summer of 2020 and got refunds back off transport, sports clubs and hotels all in a reasonable time.

Sheffield Wednesday took over a year longer than everyone else.
I didn't grumble at first (ok maybe a little) but have to admit it did stick in my throat when the club were singing a load of players clearly on a decent wage while I was still told to wait and wait.
