Nothing anti-fellow fan about laughing at the suggestion they should get a free season ticket. People have cried about the financial state of the club for years now they’re wanting them to dish out free season tickets?

Fair enough imo.

Private company, can deny business to who they see fit.

'Nothing anti-fellow fan' lol

Note - it doesn't make you a bigger/better fan by siding with the club on this issue

Don’t think anyones after that title, I think it’s called having an opinion mate, something some people can’t grasp on here, others having different opinions to their own.

This is simply not true

They just wanted the refund that the club offered them

Nothing more

Which they would have got eventually once cash flow issues were sorted.

Communication from the club was clear that it would take time to process. Yes they hid behind system issues which were clearly cash flow issues imo but we were all in it together as you said to help the club out at that difficult time.

its not really opinion mate is it?

The club offered a refund, he took it up.

The club didn't add a caveat that taking the refund would debar fans from further ticket purchases, its simply plain wrong, underhand and petty

I am dumbfounded with how many are siding with the club over this on Twitter.

The way Wednesday handled the refunds was beyond poor.

Astounded if I'm honest. Some pretty short sighted folks about.

Let’s face it. DC can run the club as he sees fit. But just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. It’s petty and it’s bad PR.
Even the fans on here who see DCs side of things must admit it would have been better if the club had been magnanimous rather than petty.

This mentality is one of the single biggest factors as to why we’ve been poo for 20 years. Putting up with mediocrity because going against the club is somehow sacrilegious.

It isn’t about taking the refund, thousands took that option, and the same thousands have been allowed to purchase season tickets again, it’s just the one person who took the club to court who hasn’t been allowed.

More than one person (to put it mildly) took the club to court or went down the legal route

Why?

because they’re not a proper fan like those who didn’t?

nope

because (and ONLY because) of the way the club handled the refunds and cut off communication with the fans they owed money to

To be honest I don't agree with taking the club to civil court over the unpaid refund, think a little bit of understanding was needed there, if this is your club, then you must know that the chairman has been propping us up for quite some time and the Covid losses would have been staggering (and despite that didn't he pay full salaries of club staff instead of taking the cheap option and putting them on furlough?). That aside though, not letting the guy buy a new season ticket is absolutely ridiculous, scandalous, shameful decision. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face here.

1) why aren’t you annoyed at the club for the way they handled the refunds

2) are you happy that this is what fans are discussing and arguing over on the eve of a brand new season?

What if that man had lost his job through the pandemic?

What if that money was crucial to his livelihood?

What if he’s now back on his feet and wants to attend again?

Shouldn’t even need an explanation but come on

Who says I’m not annoyed at the club about how the handled it? I can just see it from their point of view- Wednesday didn’t have to offer a refund (a lot of other clubs didn’t), then when they did and explained the procedure would take time, they’re getting taken to court over something they outlined (the timeframe). I’d be annoyed too.
