He's way off being ready for first team football with us. A loan at an appropriate level with a nearby team would be good or the subs bench and maybe one or two appearances for us in the last 10 -15 minutes in games already won (that isn't often). Maybe a few appearances in a no name cup games.

Bring him on slowly but give him a chance to see what proper football is about and learn his trade. If he can cope give him more chances.

Good luck to him. We all want him to do well.

This.

Whilst I think it could be good for his development to get regular first team opportunities at a lower level, I can't imagine there'd be a long queue looking to take on a kid that's just turned 17 with no first team experience at a L1 club.

He should be introduced slowly to our own first team to see how he copes and decisions about what next made after that, but with a clear plan to get him ready to play whenever it seems appropriate.

You’ve come into a positive thread about a promising young striker of ours potentially signing a long term deal, and tried to throw hate at Moore.

If you read the whole thread I quoted someone who was sucking DM off

Far too young to go out on loan.

Should spend next season here playing u-23 football, getting on first team's bench every now and then when appropriate and starting in pizza cup.

But couldn't get us promoted...

There are many things he didn't and hasn't done... this is one thing he has done well. I mean really, imagine if every time you did something good someone chimed in "but he didn't remember to put the bins out last week" or something similar. Got to move on at some point.

This often gets overlooked in the Hirst issues. Yes he wasn’t blameless but look at it from his point of view.
He’s come off a season of scoring shed loads in youth football and internationally. He’s courted by premier league clubs. His club have just had a run to the playoff final playing attacking football and scoring lots of goals. They have a striking pool of Forestieri Hooper Joao Nuhiu.

Surely he’s thinking I’m 5th choice here but when I get game time there are chances to be had and I can play with players of that calibre. As the season goes on I’ll get more involved if I take them.

But what happens, we sign Fletcher to make him number 6 in line, and we go defensive. It’s not really that successful then we sign Rhodes and Winnall in January.

So yeah he may not have acted well but we’re sure as hell didn’t treat him right. That said I’d have him back this summer !

Reason and empathy... on Owlstalk. I don't come here for that. 🤣

Who’s actually seen enough of him to even judge if he’s ready or not ?    Let’s leave it to the gaffer eh,  suspect he might just have more of a clue

Who’s to say he doesn’t sign a deal, have a cracking pre season and really be in contention for game time ?  I’m not saying a loan wouldn’t be useful but let’s have a good look ourselves pre season first

Everyone’s an expert on here @Royal_D 🤣

I haven’t seen him play much but he sounds as though he knows where the goal is and that’s a start. I agree leave it to the gaffer.

Definitely.  Only just turned 17 a few days ago. Make him feel wanted, agree a long term contract and nurture him via promotion to the U23's with a view to phased introduction to the seniors as and when he warrants it.
