  1. His agent confirmed to me that the club have exercised a one-year option. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/exclusive-sheffield-wednesday-extend-midfielders-stay-2873227
  2. This is great stuff from Jordan Rhodes. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-man-helps-young-fan-through-bullying-ordeal-dont-let-them-affect-you-2870697
  3. If you’ve heard Sam Hutchinson speaking about mental health, you’ll know how much he thinks talking about it can help… Young Emmie Bathgate, 16, is testament to this, and her mum says that the SWFC midfielder really helped her in a tough time. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/how-sheffield-wednesdays-sam-hutchinson-helped-struggling-fan-shoot-stars-2870248
  4. I was there as a 15-year-old back in 2005, so it was great chatting to Drew Talbot about that game in Cardiff. Full article here if you want to check it out: https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/nostalgia/factory-final-how-sheffield-wednesdays-drew-talbot-nearly-missed-his-date-destiny-2867454
  5. “The club is way too big of a club - with too much history behind it - to be in the Championship… The fans deserve to be in the Premier League, and I think it’s important that the club show that ambition.” Had a chat with Kadeem Harris, and he says he wants to help Wednesday get promotion, and has set himself a target of hitting double figures in goals next season. Wants the club to show ambition when replacing those who are out of contact. 🦉⚽️ https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/kadeem-harris-and-his-sheffield-wednesday-ambition-goals-goals-and-premier-league-2863069
  6. Here's the statement, and I'm told Wednesday got given a clean bill of health. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/breaking-championship-duo-test-positive-covid-19-sheffield-wednesday-look-return-2863372
  7. I had a chat with Mark Pembridge about how his move to Sheffield Wednesday came about, his thoughts on Chris Waddle when he arrived, and what he thought about Paolo di Canio and Benito Carbone during their time at Hillsborough together. 🦉⚽️ Here: https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/nostalgia/former-sheffield-wednesday-star-opens-transfer-chris-waddle-and-team-elegant-swan-2847205
  8. How’s it going everybody? Hope everybody’s doing alright in these crazy times. So this is a letter to the Sheffield Wednesday forum from The Star’s Sheffield Wednesday team, which is me, Joe, and my esteemed colleague, Alex Miller. We’re writing to you because we just wanted to introduce ourselves properly now that we’ve officially started working together to try and bring to Wednesdayites the best coverage of the team that we can. We understand plenty of the concerns that people have, some which go back a long time, and there are some that we can help address and some that we can’t. Ultimately we work for you guys – the fans – so we want to know what you want from us and how we can keep improving. Myself and Alex are looking to change things up a bit, and part of that means content being available across social media that’s completely free. Part of our plan is to utilise Twitter and Facebook more and engage with Wednesdayites on a more consistent level, bringing videos, imagery and other sorts of content to the audience on those platforms. The Star was there when Wednesday won the first division in 1930, we were at the FA Cup final in 1966 and at the Play-Off final 50 years later (I cried that day!). The Star covered every one of those cup finals in the early 90s ,and it will right there in the midst of Owls moments - good and bad - in the future. We know how important it is that the city’s local paper reflects the fanbase of its biggest club. I’m a lifelong Wednesdayite myself, I went to my first game when I was about seven-years-old, and Alex has fallen in love with the club since his arrival at the Star. We’re hoping that between us we can help change the way that the Star is seen by some of you. We, as a paper, changed the way we work towards the end of last year also and, since that point, Chris - our Football Editor - has looked to eradicate the types of stories that have been unpopular in the past. We’re here to tell SWFC stories. And you guys are part of that. You might have seen some of the walks down memory lane that we’ve been taking, and we want to carry those on even when football does resume, but we also want to hear what else you want to read about. At the end of the day, we’re just two guys trying to cover all of the bases of this incredible fanbase, so there will be stuff you like and stuff that you don’t. We’re trying to cater to old-school diehards, long-term Wednesdayites and also the younger generation of fans who have different tastes completely. It won’t all be good news, it can never be in our industry, but we’ll make sure that we’re always fair, balanced and well-intentioned in everything that we produce. If you want to have a chat with us personally, you can find us here: [email protected][email protected] [email protected] Thanks for your time! Alex and Joe ⚽️🦉 (@AlexMiller91 and @YesWeCrann)
  9. Properly delighted to now be a part of the Star's SWFC team, and l’m looking forward to settling in and doing lots more stories like this... Sheffield Wednesday’s last European adventure, featuring Mark Bright and Mark Pembridge: https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/remembering-sheffield-wednesdays-last-european-adventure-rotherham-2841675 🦉⚽️ You can find me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook at @YesWeCrann. Cheers!
  10. And another one… Wednesday snap up Jacob Murphy, who played the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool last season, but what are some of the stats behind the Newcastle loanee?http://yeswecrann.co.za/2019/07/10/who-are-the-new-owls/
  11. New #SWFC signing, Massimo Luongo, has directly contributed to 51 goals in the Championship and League One, but what else do we know about the 26-year-old from Sydney?‬ ‪Some interesting stats on Wednesday’s new #21 here: http://yeswecrann.co.za/2019/07/10/who-are-the-new-owls/‬ P.S. He Loves a tackle
  12. There’s another new signing at #SWFC, and this one holds the record of being the first goalkeeper to save a penalty at the new Wembley… Welcome, Paul Jones. Find out more about the shot-stopper here: http://yeswecrann.co.za/2019/07/10/who-are-the-new-owls/
  13. With a few transfers now (finally!) being confirmed, I thought I'd put together a page to give a bit more information and some stats about them as they come in... First up, Julian Börner, Moses Odubajo and Kadeem Harris, a former skipper, a player who averaged almost a key pass every game last season, and the first signing for 2019/20 that's got Premier League experience from the last campaign. I'll update for each player that gets announced: http://yeswecrann.co.za/2019/07/10/who-are-the-new-owls/
  14. Interesting, I've just made a little amendment in the article to mention that. Cheers!
  15. The stats website I used - and Soccerway too - counted it down as a Bannan goal rather than a Raya own goal. Presumed that was the official word. Might be wrong though.
