Teams that get promoted don’t drop points like that at home, they don’t go away to mid table sides and get turned over, they can go a goal down and come back to win or at least draw games (something we haven’t done since November 2019), they grind out wins, don’t concede silly goals and occasionally batter teams. We have none of this, we’ll finish 9th to 13th based on the fact we have good players at this level.  But we don’t have what it takes to get promoted, there’s a losing mentality at this club that’s hard to get rid of.

Do teams who get promoted draw, having been 2-0 up, conceding in the last minute of the game?

Teams that go up have a completely different mentality to us. They don’t react to a penalty miss by drifting off and inviting the opposition into the game, they make sure to keep the pressure on and find another way to goal.

 

In terms of individual quality we’re good enough to go up, in every other respect (mentality, tactics, chemistry etc.) we’re miles off.
