The Wilderless Years

Whatever will be will be. Owners can be great or they can be a nightmare. Obviously I hope this one falls into the latter category but if he doesn't then the pigs have been lucky. Really hope they miss out on promotion this season but tbh, if the owner is decent it'll be a case of when not if they go up. Parachute payments still coming in so they're an attractive prospect I guess.

The business model US investors tend to use to purchase is to borrow against the club, rather than invest their own money.

Suspect parachute payments a key aspect which can be leveraged to achieve the purchase price.

Happened with the Glazers for example, more recently and  relevantly Burnley.

If they are still in the championship when parachute payments end, will be interesting to see what happens when it becomes harder to borrow.

Not just rose tinted glasses but definitely something off here, virtually no Internet presence and his company this ClearTV doesn't look like a billion dollar company, website looks built on a template and their twitter has 4 followers....

I thought that they had borrowed against their future parachute payments, so not sure that will be an income source.... which makes it even more interesting

Price of Football has just retweeted an article about it. Comments are interesting. Newcastle fans comments sound a similar reaction to how we regard Geoff Sheard or that Mammadov character..

The guy is reportedly worth £7 billion, but there is only one picture of him available on the internet.

Seems odd.

There didn’t used to be any photos of Mike Ashley until he took an interest in taking over Newcastle despite him being a billionaire.
Only one was from when he was a squash coach back in the day.

We’ll if this does happen I suppose it’ll rule out the possibility of them going back to the Bin Ladens for hand outs again.

American owners tend not to throw a load of money at it.

The only one I can think of who went a bit crazy was that Randy Lerner fella at Villa and that turned out to be a disaster when he tightened the purse strings.

Look at the Dingles. Owners are meant to be crazy rich and yet they seem unwilling to spend much of anything.

To be fair, great piece of business by the bog roll prince....put next to no money in,  shafted McCabe (who thought he was being clever) and sold at a seemingly exorbitant price, for a championship club with already leveraged assets.

Let's hope they stay a championship club next season.

Playoffs almost confirmed. Unbelievable!

Results have gone their way for weeks.

Surely they luck has to change.

Depends what QPR turn up against them and if Fulham are on the beach or not for the final game of the season.
