Mason Greenwood

Rachel Riley's declared she wont support Manure anymore if Greenwood stays.

That'll show 'em

It's certainly a conundrum for Man Utd.  One of their best young talents, who could be worth millions...and no main sponsors are pulling out.

A decision will be made on the numbers and not morality.

I’m a firm believer in people getting a second chance, mostly. Whether they be criminals found guilty or people that have just done bad in life. But this is a tough one. Maybe he has changed? Maybe he accepts his behaviour was abhorrent and he’s taken steps to address it. If he were merely a van driver or a shelf stacker there’d be no debate in him getting on with his life - but because he’s a multi millionaire footballer it’s different (and rightly so).

I struggle to see MnU taking him back without the agreement of their female supporters and footballers.

He is  and always will  be tainted now . I cannot see any big club risking their brand and reputation ,and also the damage he would bring to their sponsors brands .

Yup

A proper Countdown Conundrum

People keep mentioning sponsors..

If any of the major sponsors were upset about this, things wouldn’t have even got this far. United will have done their due diligence with their main sponsors - probably over the course of months. This would have been nipped in the bud quicker and more publicly if there was any risk of sponsors walking.

They don’t give a sh*t. Just like United, they might test the waters and gauge public reaction before making some sort of showy public stance if it all backfired, but in terms of actually caring enough to do anything on moral grounds, they couldn’t care less.

Exactly right, their decision is based on whether fans would accept it or not, their default was that they wanted him

Greenwood's own statement says he was cleared of all charges.

He wasn't. The charges were dropped, and both he and the people defending him need to educate themselves on how important a distinction that is in the context of what he was charged with.

I’d like to know how Man U have concluded he was innocent of the charges, without a trial
