Boro legend G Friend was frozen out by Toxic Monk

Recommended Posts

George Friend started his professional career at Exeter City in 2015.  After a short spell at Wolves he joined Middlesborough in 2012.

Since that date he has become something of a legend at the Riverside.

That was until Toxic Monk arrived who froze him out almost immediately.

However the Boro players stood firm against the Manager and Toxic Monk was fired by the owner in response just before Xmas 2017.

As a footnote Geoeorge Friend played every single minute of the rest of the season undere ne manager Tony Pulis as the team qualified for the Championship Play Off's.

Sound familiar behaviour by Toxic Monk?

Is it Monks fault the same players were frozen out under Jos?

Jos and Monk both tried to do the right thing and rid this club of toxic influences within our squad

Both have been hounded about it

So we replace the manager again and the same toxic players sit back on their mighty wage packets laughing at it all

That’s how I see it

Fletcher and Bannan have supported the Toxic Monk publically it is true.

But if I was being cynical I might suggest that Fletcher is wanting a new contract and Bannan, I am sad to say, is looking weak and ineffectual in midfield.  He was totally overrun at Luton,  12 days ago for example.

Actions speak louder than words and the players look to have downed tools.

It was like a pre-season friendly for Rooney yesterday.
