Essix Blue
Nice to see we play well without him. I like BB, but I do think we rely on him far too much

OwlinOldham
One game out of many but it was refreshing to see central midfielders in the attacking third. Bannan is a great player but hes rarely playing where he can do most damage or give the most support. Also helps when we play Borner and Iorfa, they naturally make us play 15 yards further forward with how comfy they are on the ball.
Guest
All those wins we had before the last 3 with Bannan and Luongo in midfield? Bannan (and the team) plays much better, and much further forward, without Hutch in cm. If you've watched Sheffield Wednesday for the past few years and you think Barry Bannan is our main problem then sorry, I think maybe football isn't the sport for you. thewookieisdown
It's quite possible to believe both that Bannan is the most talented player at the club and also that we may be stronger without him.

Why do people post overreacting craap like this, that because you look at options and methods without Bannan that you must know nothing about football. we played 15 yards higher, had nice one touch passing between the midfielders, something we never achieve with Bannan. We played with more structure, more unity and played with a higher tempo.

Most of the time he sends it long he has no simple options for 15 yard forward passes or the like, our movement in attack is very limited. Lord Snooty
Prefer to concentrate on how good the lads that played in the middle were today. Pelupessy, Luongo and Lee were terrific and disciplined in giving us the platform today.

Different ideas for set pieces, midfielders in their rightful positions tin hat on I'll give you the midfield movement but assume you are counting a deflected free-kick as some kind of masterful set piece?! We had plenty of corners and free-kicks that were wasted, Bannan has a fair few assists from set pieces this season. The 4-4-2 with Bannan and Hutchinson in the centre clearly doesn't work though. Nice to see Kieran Lee make a positive difference given he has been written off by a few on here this week.

Colinwestzicoest
Yes. Leave Bannan out now. See how this team grows in confidence without wee Billy big b*llocks. If this proves successful, make Bannan earn his place back in the team. He will then have more confident players around him who then should help Bannan adapt his game i.e push up field. We've nothing to loose by trying this in the league as currently we're sh*te.
sMacLean
Several times now we have played better without him. He is a luxury player.
