Our focus has to be us, playing at our limits, capabilities, and putting ourselves in positions to win games. It’s going to be difficult but we have confidence and ability and a good crowd and we want to put 3 points on (the board). Doom- Adam Reach's poor form – I’m not concerned at all about his form . I’m not here to pick holes in people in players, I’ll let other people do that…. For me, that’s not the right way to work. Of course I know what needs to improve I sit with these players show them their mistakes, show them what their strengths are. My job is to give them belief and push them , support them. Just because of ups and downs and set backs I’m not going to focus on (negatives) That would be a silly thing to do , I’ll let everyone else worry about that. These players give everything. They work and they give everything every day. They’re committed and that’s the most important thing. Most important thing to me. Doom- How do you deal with players in poor form? I show trust and I show belief in them. I believe in all of them. But sometimes you need to rotate. Sometimes you need to put freshness there. These are the challenges of a championship season so… I mean you can change a player, and people will say it’s related to form . I mean if a player goes 10, 15 games without performing, of course. Yeah. But none of these players have been through a (long)period y’know, that sort of situation. So I trust them. And also I select a team which I think is best to try and win that game. That’s my decisions based on their attitude. They’re all fighting for places and my job is to support them. Doom- What did you think of the impact Murphy made when he came on? Good. Did what I expect. Did what you should do. Yeah. Good for him to get a goal. Doom- Are you hoping that is going to kickstart it for him now? I hope it kickstarts everyone! As I’ve said, their job is to be ready. That’s the point of a squad. It’s not just about 11 players. It’s about a squad. We’ve got a really heavy spell of games after this International break and that is when we’ll see the strength of the squad. Coz their won’t be any rest. Games every two or three days, we’ll have to use the squad and be smart. That’s what they’re there to do. Doom- January transfers? I’ve not really thought about it. January come, I’ll deal with it then. You can’t predict that. Preliminary chats , a few ideas. But it’s not in any great detail, focus , names or positions. Injuries - Bates is back, he’s been training for a week. Ash Baker is back. Tom Lees is back, so it’s only Massimo. Defence & Attack – We do what we can. We’re working on things. It’s not at the level I’d expect it to be at. But that’s to be expected. All I can say is that the lads have been fantastic. They’re giving the maximum. There’s a huge spirit within them and a focus and they want to do well. They have the attitude and appetite to do well. There’s no point picking holes in them. There’s no need. I’m not going to do that. My job is to help them, see set backs and help. He was the guy at Huddersfield that brought in Wagner, and all the loans they made. Said at Norwich they plan three windows in advance and have four to six targets in every postion to monitor. !. I reckon /hope he's being economical with the truth. They should know how much money we have/ or don't have, they should know who they want to move out and they should know who they want to bring in. If they haven't already had words with a few Premiership teams to see what is available they are way behind the curve. I've no objection to him telling a few porkies, don't upset the players, get them all playing for their place in the team/new contracts. Why announce on social media, the inner workings of SWFC? Social media, and Dom will know, when January rolls around, after the contracts are signed, because social media doesn't matter, this is football, not computer talk. It cannot have taken Monk long to see what we need, he's probably known it before he even arrived. It's good to keep the players on their toes.
