All this is done by intermediaries anyway. "Official" is a nebulous term in meaning. This x 100. Clever use of language. What constitutes official? Lincoln won't be in a hurry to confirm any contact until a deal is done, otherwise they risk unsettling players and fans. Imagine how some of our fans would have reacted had Bruce stayed. It would be disappointing as there seems to be a big majority behind the idea, but if it isn't the Cowley's, then DC needs to really pull his finger out and get a manager in. The current state of flux can't be allowed to continue much longer. Was that the case with Bruce? I had a feeling the rumour about Bruce broke quite some time before it was officially announced. Bruce was quoted in his first conference as suggesting the chairman was a bit wacky or something like that So a possible Bruce comment has you pegging him as eccentric???, that'll be the same Bruce who had no knowledge of a NUFC approach then fooked off minutes later!!!, not sure that screams reliable!?. I'd agree his managerial appointments have been a bit leftfield, but they are football managers, if he'd appointed a horse and a cat as managers then fair do's on the eccentric, but a vaguely remembered unsubstantiated Bruce comment, doesn't eccentric make for me!!! WalthamOwl
We need a manager in place within the next couple of days to give them time to work with the squad before the next game. I would love that to be Cowleys, I really would. DC needs to pull his finger out and get the manager situation sorted.

He freely admitted when taking over he was new to it, so a few bumps along the way are to be expected. But he's a successful business in his own right and is clearly doing what he thinks is best for club. Dont see how any of that makes him clueless or eccentric!!??? Where do i start not sacking carlos after huddersfield semi defeat appointing the nightmare that was jos and leaving it far to long and now who goes 7 weeks into the season with no manager and what a surprise it's going wrong Now off the field shirt delays, 150year celebration fiasco, rising debt, having to buy hillsborough to stave off points deduction, lack of PR, high ticket prices for substanded football, empty box in south stand Yes he's spent money or should i say wasted money and yes im sure with the best of intensions are more than a bumps along the way it's more like a car crash and unless he gets help it will continue to happen

Carlos had been relatively successful for us so he showed loyalty to him, it didnt work out, Jos had achieved a promotion to german top flight previously, which is no mean feat, but yes that wasnt successful for us, No manager for 7 weeks!?, we have Bullen, caretaker or not HE'S THE MANAGER currently, again could argue misguided loyalty!?, Wasted money??, he backed his managers transfer targets, fully hoping the would help the team gain promotion, they haven't . Its only now these are all negatives, AFTER the fact, at the time of doing the hope/expectation would be for success. He didnt intentionally do any of those negatives, as you perceive them, it's just how football pans out at times, some mangers appointments work, others dont, some transfers works, others are a disaster, same as every other club in the land!!! Not sure that Abdi and Rhodes were managers targets. And persisting with Carlos and Jos as long as he did wasn't great. He means well, but seems to be still learning. No one can blame him for Bruce's behaviour, but the cabbage man had form. He's thrown money at ageing players and that is now a major problem. Doesn't come accross as a good businessman, just a wealthy man with a toy.
