Can't you see the ability he has and that he plays so better with quality players around him? The lad has so much quality. Thought a footballing connoisseur such as yourself could see it. East Yorks Owl
I’ve bulled him up on many a post over the last couple of years, because all the ingredients that make a top striker are there to see. There is a but though and that’s because at times his body language betrays what appears to be indifference when the goings tough. No doubt he’s got the potential to go higher, but has he got the heart and application to do it? Despite a couple of invaluable goals today, he’s still something of an enigma for me. areNOTwhatTHEYseem
Interesting post-match comments from Luhukay: "Lucas Joao was having a difficult game after going on as substitute, not always keeping the ball. But he was different after his first goal and in the end was very important to us. If he wants to be in the starting line-up, he has to work very hard in training day after day. It's as simple as that." 1
Ibbo48
The guys a massive talent but even more obviously a massive confidence player. He seriously needs to be played more and not just half matches here and there. If he knew he was going to be the first name on the team sheet then I reckon he’d be unstoppable. dani_armo
Until his goals he was a having a Nuhiu type performance and was driving me mad.....so much talent in there
Avon barksdale
For me his touch, vision and everything about him is better around the opposition penalty box with the likes of Bannan and Fernando near him. When he's deeper he looks uncomfortable and clumsy
Quist
Jos's comments on him are interesting. Said if he wants to start more games has to train harder. He always looks a bit tired and probably because he is a bit lazy in training. He has had 6 shots on target and scored 5 goals this season. He is clearly a better finisher than Fletch or Atdhe but needs to up work rate and hold ball up better. His style of play will suit playing with Onomah who likes to slide balls into box for players to run onto. Think they will work well together. Sod upping his work rate and holding the ball up, get a donkey to do that. He's there to score goals and given his talent he will do exactly that. Steve Down South
Well done Joao, I've been critical in past (and still remain to be convinced) but hoping for more of the same and greater consistency in future. Really don't see a Premier League player there but will be very happy to be proved wrong.

SiJ
Very talented, but frustrating. When he's on it, the bloke is unplayable.

Shirley the strikers that are scoring far less than him; frustrate you more. Bizarre that our top scorer frustrates you, in particular.
Sergeant Tibbs
2 hours ago, Ronnie Starling said: He's played well since he came back and deserved more of a chance after he came on in the Derby last September but he often frustrates. He has so much talent but his decision making can be poor such as having too many touches on the ball (although you can't argue with that today) and not working hard enough for team when we don't have possession like the West Brom game. Today though he has won the game with two great finishes. If only he could work on other aspects of his game then we would have some player. Baffles me how he was (un)used by our old manager. Obvios from day one that we had a proper fininsher in our squad and he was cast aside.
BarnsleyOwl96
Like the above he has all the talent to be the main man for us BUT sometimes he is incredibly frustrating. Goal return is impressive and let’s hope he keeps it up
