Bannon in particular is well regarded by us City fans and he'd be a popular signing, particularly as we've picked up £17m from the sale of Flint and Reid so money wouldn't be a problem.

The impression of you guys is that the Owls are deep financial poo and will need to sell players to try and balance the books.

Dream on. Our chairman has told us that he won't sell any important players.

Does he bomb forward? Johnson likes attacking full backs and so do the Ashton Gate faithful

Yeah he does but defensively he’s a bit bobar.

Plus he’s a bit of a crock, he’ll be injured for 2/3rds of season.

He’s alright though, final ball isn’t always the best either.

Rumour around Ashton Gate is that we're after Jack Hunt - any substance to the rumour?

Personally Id like to see Reach and Bannon joining us as well!

I bet you would. Problem is they are good and hunt is rubbish. Need him off our books go FFP because of his wages. Amazed we have got a fee for him. He really is a poor defender, who despite having a bit of pace can't cross either. Enjoy. You can have all our rubbish if you like. But coming on here speculating about our good players - don't make me laugh. Bristol city?

Selling a player does not free up his wages.

If a club sells a player, they have to pay up his outstanding wages in full the day he goes.

Often a settlement is reached, say 60%, but not always and if he don't want to go, the player will hold out for full outstanding wages. Particularly if the new club are offering him less wages.

This is offset by a fee coming in from the buying club, but think about it.

If player x is on 25k a week, and has one year left, that's £1.3 million. So if the club receives a fee of 1.3 million, then it's break even. No money for a transfer kitty.

Think we are jettisoning the liability of injury prone players on the Hunt transfer and relying on maybe fitter, cheaper younger players already here.

Think that would only apply if club were forcing the sale. Agreed transfers don't attract paid up contracts as new club will be paying new one.

No.

It's the biggest player con in football.

Many players move for that very reason.

Effectively get paid twice for one year, or more.

The club only do not have to pay if the player  requested the transfer.

Standard PFA contract law.
