Bannon in particular is well regarded by us City fans and he'd be a popular signing, particularly as we've picked up £17m from the sale of Flint and Reid so money wouldn't be a problem.

The impression of you guys is that the Owls are deep financial poo and will need to sell players to try and balance the books.

If you can add another £3m to the £17m you have you might have a chance signing Bannan but if you want Reach as well you might have to double that figure.

Indeed.

Reach and Bannan have two to three years left on their deals.

Hunt had 12 months to run on his.

Still - Bristol City are the Manchester City of the Championship now, so who knows.

The head in the sand brigade on here think we are selling players to replace them with better and more expensive ones :duntmatter::picnic:

If that's the case, then I look forward to the club explaining that survey question.

Doubt we will be splashing any cash, but you'd like to think we will have some sort of replacement lined up for Hunt.

They might :Chansiri:

Well, they did just sell Flint and Bobby Reid. . .

Great thing is, all these clubs circling around those with FFP problems may well find themselves in a similar situation in a few years time.

Do we then get to buy their players?

Like a never-ending merry-go-round.

Ha! We were for half a season before the wheels came off in the NY.

Pep is Lee Johnson's idol and he tries to copy some of the methods used at the Etihad. The high press was very effective for us but we weren't able to maintain it over the entire season.

But....back to Hunt, what the view on him?

Love how that website says Rhodes is for sale but not for loan

despite the fact that FFP would hammer us with losses for selling him (as rest of fee we paid would be due on sale), hence why we're trying to loan him out!

Does he bomb forward? Johnson likes attacking full backs and so do the Ashton Gate faithful

When we first got him he seemed pretty decent going forward.

Then he got :carlosswfc:...

Every now and then there'd be an attacking spark, a great cross or something, but not on a consistent basis.

He's a decent player is Hunt, but does have some limitations.

Fan site hahaha. Take a look, it's not a fan site.

It’s also not a transfer site either. If you bother to look into there terms you will see that only”some of there data is from clubs “

rest is made up

so 99.9% BS

.1% from clubs

Youd probably need to give us pretty much all of that money.

Rumour around Ashton Gate is that we're after Jack Hunt - any substance to the rumour?

Personally Id like to see Reach and Bannon joining us as well!

Season tickets back on sale up here...sounds like you ought to buy one. UTO.

That would be a huge amount for a Championship player.

Citys record signing is only £5.3m for Famara last season. Rumour is tha Hunt is around £1.3m

He came here after a series of loan spells elsewhere. He was a bit of a rough diamond in that every where he’d been (hudds, forest, Rotherham) he’d do these marauding runs up field taking players on (limited end product) but was perhaps a bit of a loose cannon positionally.

Carvalhal seemed to want to make him a more disciplined player and reigned that in. He was still one of our main outlets but he really didn’t like players running with the ball so Hunt would need to operate in a more possession based game, picking the moment to make the runs. Sounds great in theory but I thought he looked much better as that slightly cocky unreserved player than the one we’ve had. Perhaps because his strength is dribbling rather than assists and actual defending. A lot of his tackles are last minute recovery and he isn’t as comfortable as more “boring” fullbacks when faced with direct wingers, he can get isolated by them and have been known to give him problems.

Lee Johnson should just give him free reign to bomb on with the ball if he wants to see the best of him in my view.

I was talking about Reach and Bannan!

1.75 reported in Bristol press for Hunt.

End of the day hes had two goes in the playoffs too, so good experience for someone.
