Surely they would be thrown out of court on the basis that just because you have a ticket, it's still your choice to travel? #devilsadvocate

The courts down there are different though. It's like a Yeoman/village elder thing and it depends how much cider the village chief has drunk that day.

I'm no lawyer, but are Bristol City likely to be culpable should there be any accidents or worse?

By confirming the game can go ahead, will they have had to consider all factors including the safety of all supporters and staff?

There would be issues with safety within the ground but not outside.....travel at your own risk, reason being nobody is forcing you to go and travel warnings are out.  The game should be postponed in my opinion.

It would be great to see the look on Lee Johnson’s face if the Wednesday coach turned up and FF, Hooper, Bannan , Lees and Lee got off carrying their boots Sunday League style

No they aren't.

People choose to go. They don't have to...

It's plain wrong for this game to be on considering the conditions.

Are both clubs going to guarantee the safety of supporters travelling home tonight ?

People have been stuck on motorways overnight this week ffs.

No consideration for the away fans, stinks.

Maybe people can take some responsibility for themselves and not travel if its not safe to do so.

I can see class action lawsuits from supporters against Bristol if there are injuries due to the conditions.

Madness.

Am sure their defence would be that nobody is forced to go, it's self inflicted. Am sure a lawyer would claim that

Yup, they can point out that Avon and somerset police advised against all but essential travel.

Hey Katrien

Trains are cancelled meaning any fans travelling by train are unable to get to Bristol so can't get to the game, the police are advising people NOT to travel, and there's freezing rain forecast to put black ice on the roads.

It's unsafe, our fans could be at risk by travelling back from Bristol at night in freezing temperatures and we risk accidents which nobody wants

Please can you do something to force this game to not go ahead given that our fans can't get there?

pps - can you please announce that George Hirst has signed on Monday?

Thank you!

(for any grumps out there yes I have contacted the club about this directly too)

(not the george hirst bit - the bit about calling the game off)

So what is the latest with Hirst?

True, let's be honest here, as commendable as it is our loyal away fans it's a personal choice and they are responsible for their own actions and decisions in this instance, people can argue that the clubs should have requested a postponement here due to the local police advising people not to travel, but maybe the travelling fans should have wisely taken heed of that same advice.... swings and rounabouts
