His injury record would prevent any club showing interest. Averaged 30 games a season for last 6 seasons. He has seen specialists even overseas ones and still not fit. A groin strain should not be long term, I suspect is nearer retirement than a transfer. I'd take 30 games a season off hooper. 10 goals + 5-7 assists. Southie_Owl
I really hope we can sign Venancio now with that Jack hunt money because I think he could be a very decent player once Jos has him at full fitness. Jose Fonte arrived in England at a similar age and went on to be a top defender and international
Night King
Scott Carson’s a very good goalkeeper. 2.5 million would be very cheap.
Ronio
I don't think we will be signing any keepers imo, and that's including if we sell Westwood. Could very see Dawson and Wildsmith battle it out of the no1 shirt.
gurujuan
If we don’t need to sell Westwood, I wouldn’t Maybe get one of Dawson or Wildsmith out on loan to get some experience Perhaps one until January, and then the other for the second half of the season

nethertonowl
Dont get why some on here are in total denial over the position we are in.. Captain gone Best right winger gone. Best right back gone. Highest paid player being pushed out the door. Goal keeping coach gone Academy coach gone most of best remaining players contracts run out next year. Manager said three months ago, signing will be free transfers loans , kids and league one players Huge match day prices,& season ticket prices., and still people saying we will pick up premier league quality players Not even signed a guy on a knock down fee, in a position we need cover in , who we had on loan last season, and has said he wants to come, HELLO !

Are people in denial? We know we need to cut costs and that puts us in a difficult position. I haven’t seen the fans demanding promotion or top quality players like last season but there’s a general feeling we could do ok if we get better luck on injuries and get a few loans (loan window open longer) - captain went about a third of the way into last season - best right winger as above (jos doesn’t use them) - agreed on right back, but how much of a difference will it make? We have a few wing back options. - highest paid player needs to be pushed out the door. He’s not our best player. He needs to go in order to bring others in. - fair enough on contracts, we need to cash in and rebuild if they’re not staying. - would either of those coaches turn down the opportunities out to them? Not necessarily a sinking ship job.

Let's at least wait until we have a clear picture of whats in store for us. It's a long way from being a disaster even if we do very little IMO. Oh come on Even the staunchest of wednesday fans realised it was time for Loovens to go...............more or less said so himself at seasons end ! Same for Wallace, hardly set the games he played in alight............don't got a problem with it personally. Highest paid player yes, pushed out ?............subjective,but if he is,its with good financial reasons. Goalkeeper coach has gone "home" for wants of a better word,to be Frankie bunn's assistant a fantastic opportunity for him (his words) who wouldn't ? Academy coach has been head hunted by the champions of the Premier league, whatsb not to be admired about that. Concerning about length of contracts left for some of the players, but who's to say we won't offer them new deals between now and then ? Loan players, free transfers, loans, youngsters, even league one players (don't recall him ever saying that) shouldn't be sniffed at Prices are what they are,its been like that since Mr Chansiri got full and total control...............that aint going to change anytime soon. Venancio quoted at £1.8 million at seasons end, portuguese club agree a six figure fee for him,we are /surely/have to be/should be negotiating the best deal now the "fee" is more realistic Now of course there could be "your" beliefs that we're up shitz creek, without a paddle, but if its all the same to you,i'll say what unfolds before i lose my shyte. vulva
Wouldn’t surprise me if we were back in for Josh Vela, now that Bolton are in the financial mire. Players on strike, due to unpaid wages.
