EcclesallOwl
Carlos Carvalhal is eagerly anticipating the start of a new era for the Owls following his appointment as head coach at Hillsborough. The hugely experienced Portuguese will be officially unveiled at a press conference next Thursday, but in the meantime the 49-year-old has spoken exclusively to swfc.co.uk He said: “Sheffield Wednesday, it's an historical club with amazing fans - they love their football and their club. “I want be part of these feelings, to love the club with a big passion and try to give happiness to all. “To achieve that we must play positive football, and if we do that, we can all go the same way. He added: “The new owner has a big project for Sheffield Wednesday. He knows what he wants and the way to go there. “After my first contact with Mr Chansiri, I felt full of energy and ambition for this club. “The chairman of this project has this ambition and I have the same. nevthelodgemoorowl
DC simply chose the longest day to make the announcement 24hrs 0 mins 1 second. Fact Anyway welcome on board Carlos, you'll be fine !
Groundhopping Owl
I'm guessing the press conference coincides with Mr. C's next visit? Plus it gives us the chance to try and bring in Cooper and anybody else if it's true about the club only wanting to present the coaching staff in its entirety. ashley8
Well it's obvious most are underwhelmed and they don't want people think we could have had Pearson who as just achieved what DC is after, see a as they had appointed him already. Will he beat his own record and last till next season....... Nope but we can hope everything screaming crazy choice is wrong and we end up all happy . davey_wells
Maybe, just maybe, they've only just put it online because the guy who does the website updates has been busy doing something else? Maybe they were ill? Had some issues getting a quote in and signed off from Chansiri? Maybe it took a while translating the quote? They're only people - as long as it was put up pre-tomorrow morning then does it really matter? As for the press conference delay; - maybe Chansiri isn't here until then? - maybe they can't be bothered having press conference where every single question will be about Mark Cooper? Bit of time to leave the dust to settle on his team, a signing or two etc? - and does it really matter? Tomorrow is day 1 of pre-season. Signings are already happening, all is fine. People just need to calm down a little, grab a brew and watch Babestation...

Buzz
Odds on us arriving in the Prem by 2017 have sadly just lengthened. Huge irony that this appointment of a bunch of Portuguese ... Er legends .... Occurs when Nigel Pearson suddenly becomes available. Still - makes it more likely we will be seeing Ginger power before Christmas #unfinishedbusiness would rather have Carlos than the ginger thrower any day! ItalianOwl7
We've had weeks to complain about him or be negative (not that I think it is justified) but now it is vital to get behind him if we want to see him succeed.

S25OWL
Can anyone provide a reasonable justification as to why this has taken so long? Maybe DC wanted the new coaching team to meet the players first before it was announced - heard they all had a cheeky Nandos on eccy road tonight prior to announcement - service was a little slow hence the time Edited June 30, 2015 by S25OWL
