Goodbye Mr Gray?

Recommended Posts

Clement would be the ideal choice and he'd be a big statement of intent, especially when you consider his record working under Ancelotti at big clubs and all the interested clubs in him.

If there's any truth in the rumours, it could well be when you consider new owners tend to bring in their own man eventually, then someone significantly better with pulling power to bring in better quality players would be ideal. Clement ticks all the boxes. Whoever get's him will be a club going places.

Absolutely spot on fella.

If the club is moving forward by having a style of play as opposed to players  capabilities, ie, signing players to fit a certain style, then I don't think that the change of coach / manager  has to be done immediately, if I am right ( big ask ) the coach / manager will fit the style, here's hoping.

If Chansiri is genuine and serious about promotion around our 150th anniversary and about turning us into a genuine play-off/promotion contender.

Then we need to make a statement either by bringing in a top manager/coach and/or by bringing in some of the most sought after players and proven players at this level

and some top youngsters. If Chansiri is as ambitious as he seems then I would imagine he wouldn't want to stand still and if a opportunity arises where we can bring in better to accelerate things then I would imagine he would consider making the best decision for his business and our club in order to realistically realise his ambition of getting us into the top flight.

We haven't heard from Gray because he, like the rest of the team are on holiday.

Owlstalk genius level is over 9000

What type of genius score will we finish the season with? I reckon somewhere between 10,200 and 12,465. Edited by F. Spiksley

I doubt Clement is the guy we are chasing but couldn't fault the idea of his appointment. Top coaches really seem to be the way forward. Karanka, Sherwood, Howe have all been great young coaches who have changed the perception of a manager. The likes of your Warnocks, Megsons, Billy Davies are dying out as tactically the Championship is become harder.

Clement would be a great appointment, I just would imagine he'll end up with Derby.

Not really sure what he means by that. Could be that he means the fella as had a few top jobs in various roles or that the fella is being chased or linked with a lot of jobs?

Or applying putting his name forward for jobs. He's been linked with a few in the past.

If Gray was to be dismissed from club I am certain it would have already happened. From appointments made it is clear there is ambition to improve youth of the club and academy coaching even though we have improved considerably in this area in last 18 months and personnel brought in were superior to what we had previously.

Gray is a decent coach and he had to work with limited talent and devised set up to get the best out of them.  If meeting was to discuss budget surely all members of committee would be involved, otherwise it suggests Roeder nothing more than scout.

Gray clearly has his limitations in widespread contacts in game and not certain coaching talent around him adds anything to the whole. Is it possible Chansiri is trying to add to his coaching staff or replace some of them and Gray is resisting this change. Only reason I can see to support a possible change in head coach at this stage.

I did hear from Wednesday staff 3 weeks ago that more coaching staff would be recruited to help Gray on lines of continental model. This would be specialist coaches for all aspects of game. Had thought it referred to appointment of Hill but maybe was not the situation.

Appointment of Roeder does not sit well with others who have been appointed and positive off field actions taken by Gray. At the moment it does not seem to gel as one.
