FreshOwl
If Gray was to be dismissed from club I am certain it would have already happened. From appointments made it is clear there is ambition to improve youth of the club and academy coaching even though we have improved considerably in this area in last 18 months and personnel brought in were superior to what we had previously. Gray is a decent coach and he had to work with limited talent and devised set up to get the best out of them. If meeting was to discuss budget surely all members of committee would be involved, otherwise it suggests Roeder nothing more than scout. Gray clearly has his limitations in widespread contacts in game and not certain coaching talent around him adds anything to the whole. Is it possible Chansiri is trying to add to his coaching staff or replace some of them and Gray is resisting this change. Only reason I can see to support a possible change in head coach at this stage. I did hear from Wednesday staff 3 weeks ago that more coaching staff would be recruited to help Gray on lines of continental model. This would be specialist coaches for all aspects of game. Had thought it referred to appointment of Hill but maybe was not the situation. Appointment of Roeder does not sit well with others who have been appointed and positive off field actions taken by Gray. At the moment it does not seem to gel as one. Could you possibly expand on that last paragraph?
camffiti
Do you think he's more or less realistic than Klopp. Seriously though, we have that rare quality in football - Continuity Gray has built the foundations of a decent team, on a shoestring. We now have the opportunity to put 2 or 3 cherries on top of that Or we can scrap all of that and bring in a big name, former great player and pretend he's a manager Water down our budget, by signing 11 average players ... It's not worked for Spurs or Liverpool
Guest conisbrough
Fresh Owl sorry for not making myself clear. I'll try again. Roeder has not achieved the same level of success in scouting as the other two members of the committee have in their prospective fields. We have had top pitch installed, top range of range scoreboard. In other words he is going for top of range products, Gray is well regarded in game as excellent coach. Hence Roeder is not at top of his profession. Thought we would have had list of self publicist foreign coaches surprised not happened yet.. Personally do not like sound of a self publicist. Big Jack
Can't think of anyone who doesn't mind failing as long as we spend big. Well some peoples comments would leave us in a financial mess....that speaks volumes of no thought about the consequences. We need evolution not revolution to establish long term success. WC1Owl
It does all point to being a bit of a mess behind the scenes. Unsubstantiated message board chatter doesn't indicate anything either way about what's happening at the club People saying upthread it doesn't look good for Gray on the evidence of, as far as I can tell, this thread. The reasoning is circular.
Southie_Owl
It's Martin Jol If we were ever to have a foreign manager I hope it's not Martin Jol, he has something of the Boris Johnson's about him and seems a breakdown waiting to happen. Would rather someone like Paola Sousa, Marat Yakin or Dan Petrescu. Probably the latter being the only realistic one

Blue and white
Feck me, no mention of the ginger has been ! You feeling all right ? Obviously Meggo would be first choice but that appears unlikely and should we have the chance of a manager of Sam Allardyces calibre then it's a fecking massive yes from me.
