Club have given 5000 tickets to schools and charities across Sheffield to celebrate our 5000th game. These appear to be spread across the ends of the South Stand and West Stand Lower This is brilliant.

BingleyOwl
If this is true, then a massive fair play must go to the Club. This is the kind of thing Wednesday (and especially Chansiri) need to do to boost PR and bring new generations through.

I know it's midweek, but I would have hoped at least as many Wednesday fans turn out for the Norwich game as for the Stoke game. Granted there will be more Stokies than Canaries making the trip. Stoke is £10 off for adult members, will bump crowd a bit

mark77
School thing is true. The school I work at got 25 tickets before we broke up for Easter. 205 schools in Sheffield x 25 tickets each works out at 5125 tickets. Wouldn't surprise me if every school were offered them ( can only speak for my own!)

Me and my wife both work in schools within about a mile radius of the ground. Neither got any tickets or notifications of em being available. Regardless of this though, as a club we need some positive press coverage and this type of thing could be it. It's not about being classy, it's about public perception of how we behave as a club. There's plenty of good things we do that we don't make a fuss about I'm sure. 5000 free kids tickets for our 5000th league game is better than that stupid cake which we plastererd all over the media.
royalowlisback
I still can't work out where the 5000 are going to sit - the bottom of the lower, the wing bits in the South (and FF for example is on General Sale) and a smattering on the Grandstand don't equate to 5000. Other areas of the ground have less supporters than normal - it is a little odd.
