I wouldn't read much into a 2nd friendly against a 6th tier side who haven't played any competitive football for nearly a year.

And here comes the first ‘realism’ post 🤣

The second half team would have beat the first half team.

The second half team would have beat last seasons team.

Moore has a (good) dilemma now because that youthful second half team had pace, power and directness about them and it was enjoyable to watch.

Adedoyin and Adeniran should make the team next season, Galvin needs tying to a new contract now not 3 weeks before his contract ends.

If Chansiri doesn’t want to spend and invest in youth he needs to get most of these young ones on longer contracts, keep them together and build back up. You don’t need over aged over paid expensive flops to be successful.

This is the future and for once in about 4 years I’m feeling excited to watch them unless we go back to the over age failure protocol.

Learnt that Darren Moore is capable of winning a football match

Let's see how we do against professional footballers

Not  bad start beating a 6th tier team and losing to celtics reserves

For me this game was a game of two halves. First half it was the same slow, tepid Wednesday of last season. Predictable everything into Bannan football. Patterson offering nothing upfront and just general meh performance.

Second half we had umph. We had mobility, pace and directness. We mixed our play up and to be honest it was very refreshing to watch.

Clearly Patterson is not a striker and the lad who scored made a huge difference with is ability to play the role and be dangerous (as a striker should be). He can go either way and looks to get in behind and stretch the play.

Hunt came on and really reminded us he is still here.

Borner was horrendous.  He gave 4 erratic fouls away in the space of 5 mins. Do we really need to put up with him for another season. The lad on trial was miles better and assured. (Who was he, surely need to sign). Looked like a composed Reda.

I would sack all the dead wood off now like Borner and Patterson and play the younger lads.

Moore has a tough call with Bannan as for Hunt to develop, Bannan cannot be in his way. If Hunt can keep that up it may be time to look to save BB wages and sell him. I am a massive fan of Bannan but he really does make us a predictable outfit. I think Hunt can step up now. It's now or never. He is our future.

So the point, trust the kids.

You cannot win anything with kids you say.....

You won't win anything with donkeys like Borner and Patterson blocking their route to the first team. You will get relegated as we saw.

Great second half and the new lad Adrenian massive improvement on JP.

We said much the same. The first half was a slow starter with us scoring and just showing a bit more composure at the end. 2nd half we went out to rip them apart, much more like DM's style of football, with a team cobbled together with our young players, Dunkley and some trialists! With a bit more familiarity between the players and Adeniron nstead of Waldock, I reckon our 2nd half team would have beaten the 1st half team. 😉

Sorry, I missed your post, but obviously agree completely.

We cannot judge much on what we've seen football wise, these are just training/warm up games, but the second half team players and Dennis A, look like good additions and definitely a more exciting proposition to watch.

I don't think anybody is actually saying that our current team is going to run away and storm the division, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying seeing our team have a bit of spirit, energy and life in it is there?

Ths could be a very tough season for us, but looking forward to seeing us play a bit more now.

UTO!

Are we thinking its going to be a back 3 then going forward into the new season?

Totally depends on who else comes in/departs.

We need strong but mobile CB's to play this way but also they need to be comfortable on the ball when required.

Need good wing backs too.

Starting to get a tad concerned now...

Why is he selected?

Lets be honest any team in the professional ranks that contains Paterson Borner and to some extent Palmer will struggle. The first 2 are just awful footballers with the 3rd distinctly average. To progress we just have to discard certainly 2 out of the 3 preferably all 3. In a recent post a week or so ago I saw a remark which said something about liking Patersons 5hithousery. Remarks like that just make me want to give it all up and weep.

I was there as well and can only echo this pal!

Second half was zippy and full of energy and enthusiasm. Definitely a sign of good things if those lads second half are ours and pushing to start games.

Who was number 33? He looked ace as well on the left.
