  1. Have you heard of taking one for the team? I reckon he could have been decked by Harris well before he got into the box and I mean rugby tackle style, the way Iorfa and Odubajo do it. There is a lot of rubbish talked about hindsight, but when the ball hit their defender in the stomach from the corner and he then cleared it wide, I went cold. I think a lot of us feared the worst when the ball got pinged down the pitch, but to be fair to the lad, what a finish! It was like something from lucas Joao's bag of tricks. Hopefully Joao has an off day tomorrow and our strikers are all weari
  2. They should all drive second hand Volkswagen beetles like Jurgen Klinsmann when he was at Spurs. He gave a big chunk of his money to Greenpeace, but Sheffield Wednesday players from now on may have to drive them because of the huge drop in wages when we go down a division and have to play all our home games at the New York stadium .
  3. I agree to a point. I did not want Windass, Dunkley, Paterson, Marriott, or many of the previous signings at the club, because in my eyes none of them were even as good as the players that they replaced. This has been going on for a long time and for every good player signed under Chansiri we have signed at least four poor ones and a couple who are at the end of the road football wise. Any successful team has a good mixture of leaders, achievers and triers. We have quite a few players putting the effort in, but not enough achievers and not enough leaders. Two situations last night
  4. The fact is though that Monk told him what was needed before the summer started and Chansiri ignored him. He actually brought in old players with broken legs and carrying injuries rather than bring in the young players that Monk wanted. Green who was signed up in January, when unfit was wanted by Monk in the summer when he was fit, so why did we not sign him then? Monk had a better points ratio with the set of new players and covering a period of five or six games when we had a load of defenders and defensive midfielders out injured, so with all the defenders and defensive midfielders fit, sur
  5. Game wise I thought we deserved a draw and could have just pinched a win, but they scored against the run of play to take the lead and scored on the break from an awful corner, when we had all our attacking players on the pitch and were short of stoppers. Before the game though the whoscored website summed up our two teams by strengths and weaknesses, and unless we add some strengths and improve our weak and very weak weaknesses, we must be one of the nailed on favourites to go down this season. When you look at the strengths and weaknesses below, you really worry for us.
  6. Yes, I wondered if we had hung Joost Van Aken out to dry for similar reasons, but I think he did his ankle in an U23s game, so he may get another game for us before he takes off for another European country in the summer.
  7. People still loved Forestieri, even when he publicly refused to play for us, never mind all the times when he said nothing but just could not be @rsed! Fletcher was another big hero, when he was fit enough to play, but as soon as we couldn't offer him another club crippling wage for the next two years he was off! Personally, I was never that bothered about the other mercenaries, but I am very disappointed with Shaw, especially making out he is such a fan, loves playing for the team etc, then a couple of weeks later he has actually signing a pre-contract for Celtic. You
  8. FFS! We have not had a proper football manager since Chansiri came in wanting to play at being the big man. Monk had a bigger points per game average than we have now and we had 6 defenders and two defensive midfielders out too for our bad run of just 3 games lost on the bounce! They are all there now (plus with a Luongo replacement in Hutchinson) so why have we done worse without Monk if he was so bad at his job? He knew exactly where our weak spots were because he argued with DC in the summer when DC cleared out two players Monk wanted to keep and did not replace any of the six strikers/atta
  9. I give in. Some people claiming to have rationale thought are still trying to blame Monk! I said it a while back, we take so long over getting players to sign new contracts that with 14 or more players with contracts up this summer, the club should have sorted them all out last summer, or least before January, or we will spend most of this summer not buying new players again and DC will be trying to use it as an excuse. If DC cared as much as he says he does why is he not over here now sorting things out? Planes are still flying so he either needs to get on one, and come and sort t
  10. I dont really know whether I would prefer that people who come out with these stupid comments were trolls, trying to get a reaction, or just plain 'kin stupid. It's like click bait! FOR THOSE WHO STRUGGLE TO UNDERSTAND THE LITTLE WRITING, OUR HEAD COACHES AND MANAGES HAVE NO SAY IN WHO COMES AND WHO GOES! CHANSIRI GOT ALONSO BONZO IN TO HELP GET RID OF PLAYERS BECAUSE DC DID NOT WANT TO PAY THEM ANY MORE! CHANSIRI DID NOT REPLACE THOSE PLAYERS EITHER. DROP THE MONK HATRED, THE CARLOS HATRED, THE MANAGER AND HEAD COACH HATRED, THEY WERE NOT TO BLAME. WE HAVE A CRAP TEAM BECAUSE OUR
  11. Keystone cops football at best! Not knowing who is going to take the corner? Kinell! In every team I've played in from being kids to being old men, there would have been players fighting to take the throw in that Paterson didn't seem to realise was a throw in and the corner that nobody wanted to take! We were wasting time when we wanted a winner and let them score in time added on for time wasting! To be fair, I thought we deserved something from that, but the pathetic efforts on goal just combined with players trying too hard and panicing, not knowing what was required of them, o
  12. In the gospel according to Gary, it is said that they used to chat after WBA games about how, if he was lucky, one bright sunny day, when the world was in need of a lift, if Darren did all that was required of him, he might receive the call and be offered the chance to get to the pinnacle of footballing achievement and be allowed to enter the hallowed halls of Hillsborough, as the new leader of the Owls. After all it is foreseen that Wednesday would again see greatness and boy oh boy would it be massive. Consilio et animis, UTO!
  13. I find the negativity associated with marvelous Megson a bit strange considering the very successful spells he had with us, both as a player and as a manager. Some of the players that have been given similar levels of fan loyalty recently do not even begin to compare to him in any respect. In his first spell he only missed 3 games, in total over three years and his hard tackling, link up play, goals and leadership qualities were appreciated by his teammates, managers and fans alike. I remember all those times very fondly. The interview gives a good insight into Darren's progress as
  14. He has found a list my friend and I think you will discover that the list is made up of areas where, the lovely Darren Moore, can make a few improvements. Darren calls it his hitlist for success! My wife, son and I took an instant liking to Darren Moore as soon as we hear him give his first post match chat to MOTD when he took over from Pardew after making the job of winning points in the premiership look like a doddle, especially when compared to his predecessor's approach. I bet the players could not believe the quantum jump from nasty, despicable Pardew, to lovely, loveable Moor
  15. Welcome to Sheffield Wednesday lovely Darren Moore. My family were big fans of yours when you took over at West Brom. You are such a refreshing change. I am very happy for Sheffield Wednesday, but very sad for you mate, because we are poison right now for good and promising coaches/managers. If you do not mind being Chansiri's kicking boy and media fall guy, while getting abuse and constant slaggings from the mouthy minority numbskull side of our fanbase, you will be fine, but hopefully for your sake, the short term part of your contract will save you from too much pain. Good luck, we did not
  16. That misplaced Wednesdayite optimism in the light of everything our owner has done so far has just made me cry. That used to be me... sniff , please let it be alright this time.
  17. Mate you are treading on very dangerous ground here if you even hint at Hutchinson not being good enough as a central midfield player . I agree totally that he is not, never was and never will be the answer to anyone's defensive, or central midfield issues, unless of course that person is a pig fan wishing for us to go down in a guaranteed fashion (their agent Hutchinson). Unfortunately, Palmer ended up being tried out at fullback because he was not much good going forward, or as a box to box midfielder. When Palmer came back from his season long loan, he did look a lot better and
  18. Why would we pay Doncaster a rolling short term contract? To play games for us dressed up as our players? Have they got a little midfielder that could do a presentable Bannan impersonation, or do we pretend they are our reserve team players? I have not commented on DC's sanity, only his credibility as an honest, frank and knowledgeable football club owner. Oh and his nice moves in the Morris ring!
  19. Yes, DC's lies never end do they? Even in the press brief he says he wants him long term and will back him to the hilt, but in reality only offers Darren Moore a short term contract and will not ask him which players he wants until the clubs, sorry, I meant DC and Paixo's advisors, are about to sign somebody that none of the football coaching staff have asked or even want!
  20. DJ Paully Double ya! I used to love Paul Williams up front for us, the future is Bright!
  21. You still refuse to acknowledge, or even try to understand the poor position you have put the club and team into do you Mr DC? If it was not so hard for us fans to bear it would be comical. DC comical.
  22. This is how we used to train and play, our Rastafarian coach insisted on it and man was it coooool.
