With Kane on the pitch defenders are worried. Kane didn't do much v. Croatia but he made space for others by occupying defenders.

The Scots didn't care and just played their system with 5 across the box and 3 usually 4 in front. Kane went deep and those 8 or 9 just held their ground. Kane can't hurt you from 45 yards out. And it was lack of movement among those defenders killed us.

The Czechs wont be as disciplined. Kane may start but if there's no impact he can be replaced by any one of the Sancho, DCL, Rashford in the 2nd half. The pace of  those 3 will be problematic for the Czechs.

The Czechs will play an even more defensive system than we did. We at least had 2 up top against you.

The Czechs played 451 at Hampden and will almost certainly do the same again.

What a goal!

Danes play much better football than England btw.

They probably go out tonight, but they play with some purpose and verve.

Went through which was good to see.

All teams play better than us.

Play to win, absolutely ridiculous to aim to finish second, like previously mentioned there’s a very good chance Shaun could play the second side in our group. Germany are nothing to fear in this tournament, the French on the other hand would be a huge challenge, but we shouldn’t fear anyone in this tournament, it’s wide open.

My 11 tonight

Pickford

Trippier

Stones

Maguire (perfect time to test his fitness)

Shaw

Rice

Phillips

Sancho

Grealish

Foden

Kane

A bit adventurous for us that innit?

I can see Henderson getting 45 mins too, somehow.
See how the players react knowing they’ve already qualified.
Negative Nigel might say attack......

But I doubt it.

I'd be going:-

Pickford

Trippier

Stones

Maguire

Shaw

Phillips

Bellingham

Sancho

Grealish

Rashford

Kane

Only put Kane in because he said he would start him. We're already qualified so time to give some others a run out after the no show on Friday.

Maybe Henderson comes in if he is fit.

That line up isn't a bad shout.

Might be tempted to stick with Mings as he hasn't done anything wrong (yet!).

I would definitely drop Rice , his game simply isn't needed in this team..to be honest I don't see what he offers, I know his role isn't as obvious as the others, but still..I think its time to see if we can survive without the less energetic version of Pelupessey.

Bellingham has been excellent every time he has played for England, and if your good enough, your old enough.

The only other question mark for me is Rashford...I'm nit convinced at the moment.

Sancho definitely needs to start, it's bizarre he hasn't played a minute yet.

I think England will struggle whoever they play, if they dont show a dramatic improvement tonight.

This is true.

the Scotland game had that Algeria/iceland feel.

The momentum will be good

but I can see us treating tonight like a friendly

It's beyond ludicrous tbf

I suspect it's England's medical team that have told them to isolate as they don't wanna risk a potential spread within the rest of the players

But it's totally bizarre

Baffling country. The decision making across the board is truly unbelievable

Yeah fair, Mings has been decent and we haven't conceded yet.

Think with Rashford it's more of giving him a chance to show what he can do again. Foden hasn't worked for me, I don't think he's a wide player personally, and Rashford seems more suited to the position and a bit more direct.

Sterling is getting it in the neck a bit but his run and finish in the first game is one of the few fleeting moments of quality we have had so far, with many others being from Pickford. However, I'd still give Sancho a go, he's one of our more in-form players.

I'd personally want to give DCL a go but GS has said Kane will be starting. Think a few of them need to be dropped to have a wake up call that Friday was not acceptable. Not so much the result but the limp performance.

Kane starting is bizarre, presumably Gareth thinks he needs a goal or more match fitness?

He's our captain and one of the best strikers in the world.
