Inspector Lestrade
Just now, full fathom five said: His professionalism isn't in question, some people can lead others prefer to concentrate on their own job. It's no slight on Lees in the slightest but also no coincidence that his best period at our club was playing alongside a more natural leader in Loovens. Anyone would look better with Loovens alongside. Maybe its Lees who has been the steadying influence after all he's been the constant.

Guest The Horse
I thought he was about to break down in that video interview at one point. Emotionally break down I mean. But not for not being Captain anymore. Reckon he's glad that the bad eggs and unprofessionalism has gone that he probably hated. Imagine being Captain of such a toxic dressing room as before. The mental toll must've been immense. I think that's why he almost cracked in that interview. And why he's already playing better. They're only human. And nobody enjoys working with nobheads. Welcome back, the real Tom Lees.
TodwickOwl
He does the basics very well, no better defender in that area, well in Lees

Well done Tom Acknowledge I’ve written him off, which is based on 2 years+ of average or worse performances in a team that leaked goals. a team he captained. I would love to come back in a years time to say he he is the the player he was 4y ago. Credit where it’s due today. UTO

SiJ
He got a bit emotional there when talking about the captaincy. Shows he gives a sh*t. Have to say, I thought he's been excellent in the first two league games. Thank god we are playing him in the middle of the three.
Mr Farrell
Best defender in the Championship after Van Aken. Those on here the wrote him off last season should be ashamed.

Remember when he played him on the right of the three? I can’t fathom why Monk is such a slow learner. Pretty sure by November he’ll have realized Reach’s best position is LWB or LW
Plonk
So in true owlstalk style he is no longer a bad egg and needs fooling off out of the club ? Glad that’s cleared up

Lees is quality at this level. Light-years better than, for example, Borner. Reach is next. Fans have been hammering Reach for months, but he’s the best WB we have and EASILY the best LWB we have. Yet we hammer him cos when he plays CM or Striker he’s poor. The thought that Moses, Penney and Harris get that LWB berth ahead of trying Reach there for four games baffles me.
Mr Farrell
Joey is way way better than people said he was last season too. Just wait and see he'll be brilliant this season and become a legend.
fpowl
Do decent outlays next to him now so he doesn’t look like he’s handling a ticking bomb When he’s been passed to looks a lot more confident in this team / set up than previous years glad he’s back to doing his primary job as defending because he’s a real force when he does that at his best

Jim
Finds himself in a position where due to Dunkley’s recovery from a long term injury, he’s got a chance to nail down a place in the team which he might not have had? I’ve always found with Lees if you keep things simple then that is when he’s at his best. Giving him the captains armband just gave him unnecessary pressure that he could do without. Hopefully he’ll have a good season but I’m totally expecting it to be his last here along with some of the other senior pros who are in the last year of their current contract. Weshallovercome
I don't think the captaincy played a part in his poor form last season, he seems to be thriving on being the 'old guy' in defence so far this season. It could well be he just doesn't click with Borner........which by the looks of it Monk thinks that too. Lees was imperious yesterday, shame he didn't score that header, he deserved it.
