Very pleasing stats. Can focus on his own game now he isn’t captain.

^^^this. He isn’t captain material. Not a criticism but he isn’t.

Been a massive critic of his and would have looked to have shipped him out in the summer

Very good today but its early days

Made a nice change for him to take the game by the scruff of the neck

Excellent performance. He’s not as bad on the back as some like to make out either. Yes he had a bad spell but he’s still a very good championship player.

Also never understood why managers kept playing him on the right side of the 3.

Said it ages ago, he couldn't handle the pressure or captaincy.

Theres been many players that couldn't down the years in sports, look at nassar Hussain and cookie for England cricket.

Tom for me is at his best when he's just got to focus on doing his job, that's why he was so good when G. Loovens was skipper. Luckily for us G. M has realised this and lofted the weight off his shoulders and he's now beginning to get back to that  solid, dependable defensive rock he once was.

Not much between his best and worst performances, just very reliable.

Steady player, gets stick when asked to do things he's not comfortable with or covering for others. Not a captain though and hopefully having a leader (apparently) Dunk alongside will help just like Loovens did.

Think that's a bit of a myth he doesn't need a steadying influence, he comes across as very professional.

His professionalism isn't in question, some people can lead others prefer to concentrate on their own job. It's no slight on Lees in the slightest but also no coincidence that his best period at our club was playing alongside a more natural leader in Loovens.

You could apply it to any player playing in that team at the time
