Korede Adedoyin

Fits the profile of players we've been looking at.

Rhodes plus Adedoyin, Windass, possibly Da Cruz (not a huge fan) adds numbers, but lacks quality.

Think we need an experienced Championship forward in the mould of Hogan or Jutkiewicz to lead the line (Rhodes should be that player, but isn't)

Just watched two of his highlights. Yes I know anyone’s highlights look decent but this lad is quality. He’s obv only against young ens but has some skill n pace.

If we were playing with "lead the line forward" next season I think we would have kept Nuhiu and already be being linked with a Fletcher type replacement, looking at the players we are being linked with, imo the front 2 next season will be high energy forwards who can close down opponents defenders when they have the ball and when we are in possession be quick to run past defenders. Total change to when we had Fletcher up front.

Classic thread this.

this is a player who couldn’t even get on the bench of the mighty Hamilton. And has been released by Everton.

if you really think Garry monk is even going to have any idea about who this player is then please pass me the pipe you are smoking.

Is anyone concerned that Everton released him? Why would they do that?

They released John Lundstram and he turned out okay. You are always taking a chance with young players released by PL teams, but there are some diamonds David Brooks for example and there are many more.

Just like monk dint know who da Cruz what’s..and Stuart grey certainly didn’t know who Sergio bus was..it’s obvious the head coach has nothing to do with most of the recruitment..yet the Carlos haterz still lambast him for signing all the poo..bizarre

Monk said he knew Da Cruz through a contact. Seen as Da Cruz was poo then it wouldn’t surprise me if it was a Monk signing.

But we shouldn't be signing players because the manager happens to know them through a contact. Or at most that's one way to identify a potential player. But it's no way to evaluate him relative to other possible recruits. And it's certainly not what you'd want as the main way of identifying possibles.

Our transfer strategy needs to be focused on a few things. One ensuring we have enough for a condensed 46 game season where we don't get relegated. Secondly a squad that is put together relatively cheaply to enable us to spend more in 21/22. Thirdly and more importantly we need to invest in players that will return an investment for us. For too long we have been snobby in our approach and held on to players past their peak selling point as we are Sheffield Wednesday. Unless we ever get back in the Premier League we need to accept until then that we are about developing and selling players as required to make us stronger. This lad must fall in this category.

Exactly, at this level and below football is all about good business acumen.

Norwich has been a good model for years. Build a mid table side, get some youngsters mixed in and if you get offered megga bucks, sell em on and improve the side. All whilst staying within your financial restraints. It seems the only sensible way forward in both the current climate and EFL rules.
