Birley Owl 1867
It's not the atmosphere that's the problem at home, its just our support in general. For example, 10 mins in last week Osaze makes a poor pass, and people from the stands grumble and abuse him for it. Why what is the point? A lot of our fans just turn up and hope for a mistake from our player so they can give them some stick. When these supporters stop this, or stop going or stay in the pub or whatever, we'll get better.
S36 OWL
We need to get at teams right from the kick off at home to get the crowd going. Too many times this season we havnt got going until the second half.
SiJ
Think torres calls it best: You have to earn the right to play. At home we sort of turn up and seem to expect/hope things will go our way. It doesn't work like that. We are not good enough to just turn up.

At home the onus is on us to take the game to the opposition and put pressure on them. Don't think we have the quality or ability to do this. Away we can sit back more and hit them on the break. Can't blame the fans.

It's the lack of support and atmosphere from the season ticket holders. They just don't have it in them anymore. Get POTG back, get the the atmosphere back, and the players will perform. 1 How many ST holders have we? 2.How may tickets were issued to Owls fans for away games Surely ST holders get priority of away tickets, hence the majority of away tickets will be taken by ST holders. For any of the POTG fans, surely they have discovered that the cheapest, surest way to watch Wed is by ST, and anyone wanting to go away, the surest way of obtaining this is to be a ST holder? Conversely, if the majority of the Away following are POTG fans, why are they not at Hillsborough? I agree with Birley that there are many of our regular home fans who seem to delight in pulling down certain pllayers , or even the full sie. FlyingOwl
Toxic Hillsborough atmosphere where any dodgy touch is met with groans. Makes the manager nervous so he sets us up to try and avoid defeat rather than go for it. Players are anxious. Hillsborough is no longer a fortress and lacks passion. It’s progressively gotten worse since that disappointing night against Huddersfield where I think the soul was sucked out of us. Away from home the pressure is off. NeonLeon
We’re a counter attacking side. No coincidence that the away side has had the lions share of possession in all our home wins. Like others have said, we don’t have the players high up the pitch to unlock teams that sit in against us. . Either they can't afford at ST, or can't get to all home games for what ever reason. It's no excuse to rip them off for tickets.

It's all a bit chicken and egg though, isn't it? Yes, the atmosphere is a bit crap, but then we've not been served up with much to cheer about since Huddersfield. Thing is when Bruce came in and we started to produce some decent football/results, the atmosphere picked up. It isn't rocket science.
Eastern
Is there a real problem? prior to Cardiff game, we’d only lost 2 at home in 2019 (both v QPR).

We are like two different teams. Is it the pressure of playing at Hillsbro? Is it a mental block when we are at home? It's so frustrating that we can perform so well on our travels, yet be so poor at home. Because Monk hasn’t yet worked out a way of playing at home.

I do agree with the point you’re trying to make mind. It’s give and take. And it’s gonna take much more than a run of a few wins at Hillsborough to get things going again. But even when we have played well at home, even back in the glory days under CC when Hillsborough WAS a fortress....the atmosphere just wasn’t there. The team sometimes turn up at home and deliver. The supporters haven't for years, and are getting worse. Season ticket holders need to take a long hard look at themselves, stop sitting on their hands, put their midget gems away, and make some noise.
