The Usual Overreactions

Only those with NO spirit to begin with...if we were in the Prem you'd still be slagging the team and club off...waiting for the club to fail has a lot to do with it so go figure. The fact we're in the playoff positions after the summer we had says a lot for the good work the manager has done with the same group of players that have failed before...nothings going to change especially for those who are rubbing their hands gleefully every time we drop points

Don’t recall many slagging the club off the first two seasons under Carlos. The atmosphere around the club at that time was superb.

Whats happened since is quite straight forward. Two failed play off attempts, followed by two frustrating seasons where fans expect more from a squad of players which are not quite good enough/injury ravaged. Fans expect more, so when those expectations aren’t met the atmosphere turns slightly toxic and demanding.

This season we are doing well, but the fact United have leapfrogged us and are more than holding their own in the Prem has dampened our spirit. Couple that with a potential points deduction hanging over our heads, it’s completely understandable why the atmosphere is so dead.

Our future is uncertain and our rivals have gone from League One to 6th in the Premier League in the space of 2 and a half years. We are shell shocked, and it shows at Hillsborough.

How come we don’t have these sort of threads when people get a bit overexcited when we win a few games? Win and play well, and everybody’s happy Lose and underperform, then people are gonna ***** Personally, I think we are doing OK, better than I imagined anyway. The squad remains unbalanced, and until Monk has the opportunity to address those issues, we’ll likely continue to be inconsistent

If you had told me we would be in the play off places at Christmas I would have thought you were off your head...and the funny thing about it is that when we've dropped points we've done it ourselves...nobody has outplayed us especially the other top six sides

It's a very ordinary division with many teams of similar quality and that makes it very unpredictable.

As a big club with a history, we rightly expect to be challenging - without that ambition we may as well pack up and shut up shop.

We are challenging this season in a very tight league, and fine margins win or lose games. It's not about the money you've spent, as the pigs and Stoke prove at opposite ends of that spectrum, so it's more about organization, desire, commitment, concentration, will to win and being brave to go for 3 points every game.

We won't always play well, but it's good to see that we showed desire to get into the lead against Stoke, only for our concentration to fail miserably in stoppage time. Today, that same concentration let us down in the first few minutes, but we kept battling even if we were hampered by a resolute defence and a referee who allowed them to waste time and upset any momentum we tried to build.

We probably cannot make wholesale changes in January, so we can give in or get behind what we have and hope it can keep influencing the players to give it their all. Injuries to key players will always have an impact in such a tight league so as the season wears on, let's hope we suffer less from this than other teams.

It's frustrating to concede such silly goals - the manager, players and fans must all feel disappointed, but we just have to be more determined and organized to reduce these mistakes and loss of concentration.

This season still has a long way to go, and while we are annoyed, we wouldn't want the players to give up, so as fans all we can do is get behind them to keep them on their toes to give their best, and trusting that the manager will drop anyone who he thinks is falling below that standard.

We all know the playoffs are a lottery, so our main aim is to be in with that chance after 46 games.

Sorry for the long post and I'm not a happy clapper, and feel just as hacked off as anyone else tonight.

Our rivals have gone from league one to 8th in the prem in the space of six and a half years, they were stuck schlepping their way until that fella with the biggest chip on his shoulder turned up and smartened em up.

The reason the atmosphere is dead is quite simple.

You just have to look what’s happening across the city. You all hate to admit it, but it’s true. They’ve killed our spirit.

Why should anything the pigs do or don't do affect us in any way?

I don't care what they're up to, and most Wednesday fans don't either.  I don't give them a second thought.

In fairness, the atmosphere at home games is pretty lame.

It's so bloody quiet. It really is like a morgue. You watch any other team and you get singing, chanting, all sorts - not at Hillsborough.

And the stupid ironic thing is that we've got a guy with a big drum that does nothing all game. What's the point in the drum if its not going to be used?

Given the incredible lack of urgency and entertainment the players serve up over the last few seasons, us Wednesday fans need some help to make noise. DC needs to make some efforts here - look at Leicester, Palace... clubs that have made conscious efforts to improve atmosphere in the crowd. But no, he sits there with apparent riches and does naff all.

Away from home, completely different. Fans at Stoke were class, they always are away from home.

I personally don’t think this team is ready for the PL. we are a decent championship team, that on our day will beat most teams, but if we are not on it, we look bang average, unlike West Brom who don’t have to play well but will still get the results. If by miracle we go up, we would only struggle and end up like Cardiff/Huddersfield. We need a fresh team. Young and hungry that we can build on. Right now I don’t see that.

Ready for the Prem .. we aren't ready for top 8 if you ask me ...

We are over performing at the minute if you ask me .. we've had some good results. I think seeing us fall pitifully to Stoke and Cardiff and all the other results where we've thrown points away sums up where we are as a team at the moment and what we need to improve on,

Still think we need a mass clearout .. there are some players that have been with us years that have got that losers mentality about them now .. that comfyness .. that needs breaking up. Every team needs freshening up from time to time and that even means getting rid of your key assets ..

I took a Leeds supporting step grandkid to a match last season. He’s only 6 so isn’t infected by their up themselves attitude.

I overheard him telling a cousin the other day that going to watch Wednesday was very different from going to Elland Road because it was so “chilled”!

I suggest anyone "pretending" not to notice them, has a f.ookin' look, because it shows what can be done with a half decent manager, a game plan, and players that know what it is.

Ignoring it cos its United is stupid....Saying it hasn't affected our fans is false.

How often do we sing "The bounce song" now?...hardly ever...Why?..cos it got stopped mid bounce, and us..like a bunch of f.ookin' fairies are still letting it affect us.

Hold yer hands up , they are doing well, its bloody annoying, but get on with it, accept it...We've had it before..Its been the other way around before...and will be again..IF..

We get our house in order.
