Penney didn't make the squad today doubt he will next week

I don’t think he will mate. This is what I would play not what I expect to happen. My preference is always to have proper footed full backs on each side and I don’t rate fox

Havent seen any pre-seasons but Harris for FF is a possibility from what many fans are saying.

Away from home so maybe not two up top, so a 433/451 for me.

Westwood

Palmer

Lees

Borner

Moses

Lee

Hutch

Bannan

Reach

Fletch

Harris

Subs; Dawson, Fox, FF, Joao, Joey, Rhodes, JvA

We have quite decent options with the exception of CM especially if 3 in the middle is an option. I guess Reach can play there at a push with FF taking wide forward role.

Must say the bench looks a lot stronger than in the days when we had a bunch of young lads sitting next to Jos.

Will Iorfa likely go to RB when he returns?

I'm assuming Odebajo is right footed so not suited to left back either?

More comfortable on his left then Palmer is I believe.

However I think we see Iorfa as one of the centre backs now.

I think this will be probably be the side. It’s a side that’s capable of getting a result at Reading, but it looks a bit lacking in flair and imagination Might not be a problem on Saturday, but against better sides we may struggle

I have only seen a couple of the games.

At Lincoln we played Palmer right and Odebajo left.

Against Espanyol they played the other side.

Of course one game was Bruce and one Bullen.

The thinking might be that Palmer is the more defensive and a better defender of the two so we decided to play him on the same side as Joao who does less defensively than Reach.

Have no fear Lee Bullen... I've been wracking my brains since Sunday evening trying to figure out how we can accomodate the holy trinity of Bannan, Lee and Hutch, while also playing wingers and two up front...

The answer is 3-5-2

lol

Get the ball wide for Harris and Reach, and let Rhodes maraude off the sholder of Fletcher or Nuhiu.

Rhodes is still an £8million striker. We need him to start and we need to play to his strengths.

Actually this side might make more sense. Start with Forestieri, if he’s in the mood, he’ll run the game, then introduce the pace of Harris against tiring defenders

Would also have Odebajo, Iorfa and Joao on the bench for the same reason.

I’m not a big fan of playing players out of position and I think when you play a right back at left back the back line isn’t as balanced.

For that reason, the side I’d go with is as follows:

Westwood

Odubojo

Bonner

Lees

Fox

Reach

Lee

Bannan

Harris

Rhodes

Fletcher

Subs: Dawson, Forestieri, Hutchinson, Palmer, Joao.

For me that’s a decent, balanced 11 at this level and some decent options from the bench.
