Di Canio - 20 years ago.

Recommended Posts

As a human has some questionable and bad traits (that salute he did while playing for Lazio comes to mind). As a footballer he was just pure entertainment and excitement, we should have backed him after the ref shove like Man u did with Cantona after the kung fu kick. But this seems like Di Canio probably doesn't like the details. He probably heard 'Well done Paulo you are player of the year here is your trophy', takes the trophy has a photo. When the guy goes 'Now in 10 months can you contact Steve on 0114, have you got a pen Paulo, anyone got............' Paulo gone and has already forgotten the award nevermind how to return it.

He was also disrespectful to us in his autobiography.  Said he moved to whu because it was impossible to win anything at a club like Sheffield Wednesday.

Superb player though.

well he was right, although he did move to WHU so he wasn't going to their either.

Guest Jack the Hat

I remember it well. Issuing a writ for the trophy ! How embarrassing! He left us because Wilson couldn’t handle him and  redknapp couldn’t believe his luck. He’s allowed to have a personality. The biggest tool here is whoever issued a ‘writ’ . Cringe!

He hung himself out to dry by pushing a ref over...Wednesday banned him as they should have, he was gonna get banned anyway..Then he thanked the fans, thanked wednesday said he had received a fair hearing, promised to come back V leicester...no show...great player...absolute tw *t!

Sure wilson and Richards have plenty to answer for regarding Wednesday...DiCanio isn't one of 'em..the fault was all DiCanios...He wanted out..he got out

He'd been demanding a move virtually from the day he signed.

Great footballer, imo the best that has ever played for Wednesday in the modern era, but he’s a full weight c**t. I’d be interested to know how he came across during that city hall date he did a few months back

He boasts about "I have won awards with Juventus, Milan and Celtic and have won the UEFA Cup as well".

He hasn't exactly been laden with honours during his career actually. He won a title with Milan, which I'm not sure was all down to him, but in that UEFA Cup that "he won" he only came on as a late sub in both legs with Juventus already 3 goals up in each game, his contribution to winning his European Supercup was making an 89th minute sub appearance in both legs, and he failed to even win a trophy with Celtic!

The problems we have suffered over the last 2 decades can be traced back to the season we signed this Knob head, not his fault, the club's higher management  got it all wrong.

To be fair he isn't wrong.

But he didn't move for that reason.

That is one hell of an achievement.....probably up there with Man City doing the treble this year.....,I’ll bet there’s not many others, if any, who have done that
