Owly Mowly
Bannan never stopped today. From 1st minute to last he kept going. OK, the odd misplaced pass, but he was the one player that looked like he might create something, and he closed and harried all game.
mike312
Westwood 6 Made some good saves but slows the play down too much and distribution is poor. Hunt 4 Poor again. Suddenly won't go past a man. Lees 6 Played OK. Sasso 6 Did OK, was prepared to come forward with the ball. Reach 6 OK but better in midfield. Can't beat a man but his touch and control is good. McManaman 6 Looks promising. Just what we need, a direct skillful winger. Lee 4 Carrying an injury and was annonymous Bannan 6 Tried hard. Some of his passing is brilliant. Hutchinson 7 Could have got sent off but gives 100% every match. Fletcher 6 Comes deep too often for me due to our lack of attacking midfielders. Hold up play is good. Forestieri 4 First half was not interested second half better once he went on the wing. Greedy when with the ball. I expect better from him although accept he is carrying a knock. Joao 5 Actually opened up the game when he came on but his football brain is tiny and he doesn't win enough headers. Wallace 5 did OK but takes too long to deliver the ball and some of his deliveries are poor. Jones 4 Not sure what he brings at the moment. Overall another disappointing and frustrating match. If we want to be promoted we have to beat teams like these. I'm actually doubting Carlos for the first time as we have seen no improvement against average and poor teams in his time here. We are too slow in everything we do, we are predictable and are far too one dimensional. Dead balls are laughable.
thebrap11
Westwood 7.1 Hutchinson 7 rest N/A like watching Stuart grays tactics again. Dont know if I'm more shocked at our performance or the fact 6 human beings have voted sasso mom. Crazy world. Owl 44
Was a little worried when I saw Sasso was playing but thought he did okay. Westwood good but got lucky with penalty decision. McManaman looks like he could be a good signing. Hutch immense as always but what happened with the free kick? I thought he'd been knocked out cold but then he rose like a god. Looked like he had a nose bleed. Somebody else said he threw up. Not sure. Rest of them. Meh.....
mogbad
Westwood 6 (Decent save in 2nd half, very lucky not to concede a penalty in 1st) Hunt 3 (6 for 1st half, 0 for 2nd when he was absolutely woeful) Lees 6 (Pretty solid game) Sasso 7 (Decent game for someone who's had very little game time) Reach 4 (Ok 1st 10 mins then gradually got worse) McMananman 6 (Decent on the ball when he had it but didn't see a lot of it) Lee 5 (Didn't look fit from the start) Bannan 6 (Not his best passing display but full of effort) Hutchison 8 (A level above anybody else on the pitch) Fletcher 6 (Some decent link play) Forestieri 5 (Looked disinterested at times & spent too much time sat on his arse moaning at the ref) Wallace 4 (Offered very little) Joao 4 (Typical performance, not good enough at this level) Jones 5 (Bizarre substitution, swapping a striker for a defensive midfielder when we're only drawing at home)
HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
Chose Westwood Thought Hutchinson, Bannan anf Fletcher had good gones Hunt was woeful Can't understand all the love for Sasso, he won one header in the second half, was constantly bullied, Lees had a right go at him, then Westwood had a go at him, people must like bandages The situation with Forestieri needs sorting, he's like a spoilt child, it's clear to see that there is a bit of disharmony in the camp, I still think a few players haven't forgiven him for the Norwich fiasco Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife. Mountain Owl
Hutch does it again for me 4 matches on the bounce. BB back to more like his old self coming in a close second. All the rest very mediocre at best with FF woefull and doing nothing without the ball and at times selfish.
Lionel Fessi
Westwood, 8 - Two big saves to get us out of jail, almost got caught out when they hit the bar first half, but another assured display we've really needed him these last few games. Hunt, 5 - Average, very hit and miss with his forward play, played one decent ball in then the next two were rubbish...Likewise with his defending, gets skinned once then makes a good tackle. Understand why we rotated him for Palmer, lacking the consistency he showed last season so far. Lees, 6 - Won headers, tackled well, struggled abit playing with Sasso lack of understanding between those two showed. Sasso, 7 - Gets a 7 because it was his first league start for us this year and I thought he did very well against tough opposition. Almost scored with a good header which produced a fine save, typical european defender likes to play the ball out. Made some intelligent passes forward that got us going....but also made some poor ones, few nice slide tackles too, should be proud of his performance today. Reach, 6 - Looked very tired at the back, didn't get forward much but worked hard...needed him to put a shift in and he did a job, average performance under the circumstances, good clearance off the line though. McManaman, 6 - Showed some nice turns on the ball and some good touches but don't think he really created anything. Doesn't look match sharp, but Wallace needed a rest, looks like he will be a decent signing but was limited today, early sub showed he wasn't up to 90min. Lee, 5 - Didn't look 100% fit, lots of sideways passes and didn't float around the pitch like he usually does finding those pockets of space. Off at HT, looks like he should have missed out again today...we should have started Jones instead. Hutchinson, 8 - Huge yet again, tackled all over the pitch, passing was decent, work rate incredible and i noticed he got forward much more today - which is a testament to how little we created going forward when our CDM is putting in crosses and taking people on. Bannan, 7 - Worked hard but nothing came off for him today, looked better when he was back at CM. Gets a 7 because unlike others he was willing to work hard and try to make something happen, few nice touches and good balls just wish he could shoot! FF, 4 - Love the man was buzzing when i saw he was starting. But for somebody who has almost had Christmas off, didn't look bothered today, lost the ball a lot in the first half and work rate was poor. Improved second half but never really got into his stride, far too wasteful, again don't think he was 100% hopefully he will find his form again but disappointing today. Fletcher, 5 - Worked hard but nothing came off for the big man today. Struggled in the air vs Bathh but didn't really have a lot to work with, we created very little, felt he did a much better job than what Joao would have. Wallace, 5 - Buzzed around bit, got the ball into the box, but didn't create anything of note. Joao, 5 - Didn't really do anything. Jones, 5 - Not on for long enough, should have started. Poor performance from us again today, can't blame CC as he lined the team up similar to how I would have...made the best of a bad situation with the fixture list being as it is. We had too many players today putting in average performances against a Wolves side who set up really well, pressured us on the ball and caused problems going forward. Showcased our lack of quality in depth, whatever is going on with Abdi we either need him back or a player like him, had no creativity today or spark. Wasn't a good game at all, honestly felt myself zoning out as the game went on, aside from Sasso's header early we didn't test Ikeme at all, a few penalty shouts but that was about entertaining as it got, for 30k attendance I expected more! modboy
Hutch IS too good for us. Could have been sent off by other refs though as that challenge was ludicrous

IstillhateSteveBould
Westwood 7 - Did his job. Hunt 6 - Usual sloppy moments but mostly defended ok, and at least tried to make things happen at the other end. Lees 7 - Solid even without his partner. Sasso 6 - Did ok to say he's barely played, but struggled to deal with Dicko in the 2nd half. Reach 6 - One of our better players first half, seemed to tire and become sloppier as the game went on. Mcmanaman 6 - Clearly not match fit but showed glimpses of the sort of speedy direct play we are sorely lacking. Hutch 8 - He's pretty much carrying the team at the moment. Couple of great driving runs. Lee 5 - Way off the pace. Bannan 6 - Worked hard but looks like a player with zero confidence at the moment. FF 4 - Knew it wasn't going to be his day after he lost the ball with his first 3 touches. Poor. Fletcher 4 - Offered absolutely nothing. Wasted the ball in good areas a few times. Wallace 5 - Very little impact. Joao 5 - Offered more than Fletcher at least. Jones 5 - See Wallace. We were dire. Maybe even worse than the Rotherham game. Lambert must be devastated they didn't win. They bettered us in every department. Ok they were direct and physical, 2 things we usually struggle against, but we have to perform better if we want to stay in the playoff spots. Too many of our key players not producing in crucial moments.
SquirrelSlingshot
Westwood 6 - Not much wrong, although maybe a tad fortunate not to give away a penalty Hunt 5 - Skinned far too easy at times, but given very little support in fairness. Lees 6 - Not quite the same without Loovens. Sasso 5 - Dominated aerially by the Wolves attack. Reach 6 - Had energy, but his decision making the final third needs improvement. McManaman 6 - Tried to be direct, but Wednesday's slow tempo didn't help. Looks promising. Hutchinson 8 - Please don't get injured. Lee 5 - Quiet, although was probably carrying a knock. Bannan 4 - Typified everything bad about Wednesday's performance. Slow in attack, always going backwards, wasted possesion in promising positions. Forestieri 5 - Better when played deeper in the 2nd half. Still not convinced playing CF is his best position. Fletcher 5 - Looked lost. Subs: Wallace 4 - Forgot he was playing. Gave Hunt no help. Joao 6 - Offered a much needed out-ball. Jones 4 - ???

trotter
Westwood 6 - good saves but could have given penalty away and poor distribution Hunt 5 - decent first half, terrible second Sasso 6 Lees 5 Reach 5 McMannaman 6 - lost all shape when he went off Bannan 5 -effort but no end product Lee 5 Hutchinson 7 Fletcher 5 Forestieri 4 - talent is no substitute for effort Jones 3 Wallace 3 - if a wingers job was to hit the first defender he'd be with Real Madrid Joao 4 - Bambi on ice, offers nothing. Surely Hirst would be a better bet
Chriss
Westwood 8 - Could have sworn that was a nailed on peno tho Hunt 3 - Shadow of what he was Lees - 6, seemed solid Sasso - 5 nervy, wasnt that confident in him. Couple of times he left us wide open Reach 7 - Definitely offers something different but tired towards the end Lee 2 - Obviously still injured, poor game Bannan 3 - The bloke can't tackle Hutchinson 9.5 - Can see the passion in him. And that tackle... Christ Forestieri 2 - Horrendous. Had a lively first 10 minutes and got mardy for the rest of the match after he banged his head. Kept holding his head. Mcmanaman 6 - Not a bad start, just trying to fit in, held the ball well and a couple of decent runs Fletcher 4 - not great Wallace 4 - meh Joao 1 - Useless leggy tosser. Cant head, run or defend. Get rid please. Dont start on growth. Jones 3 - Set the tone for the last 20, defend and shut up shop.
splan80
Westwood 7 - solid and dependable. Not sure what was with his kicking tho today Hunt 4 - think we need better if we are to progress. For me he's not good enough playing an attacking fullback. Some dodgy clearances today too. Although he gets no support on the flank at all. Lees 6 - solid. Looked lost and frustrated on the ball at times, but with no movement ahead it's not surprising. Sasso 6 - a solid replacement for Loovens. Better attacking in the box then defending headers. Keeper made a Reyt save. Reach 4 - couldn't seem to control or pass or cross today. Made the odd decent run. Mcmannaman 6 - thought he was fairly decent as a first foray - shame he was pulled early. Hutch 8 - class as usual. If it wasn't for him crowd would have nothing to get em going of late. Lee 5 - not one of his best, but without his running in between lines we seem so static. We miss him when he's not around. Bannan 4 - been disappointing most of season. Can't seem to pass simply. Trying to many touches and gets us in trouble lots. Shooting seems to have git worse. It's so annoying as we get the odd glimpse of quality, but just not enough this year. Forestieri 4 - was off the pace from the first minute. Should've been played as a sub today. Fletcher 6 - felt for him today. Had little support when he was having to deal with long balls. Had no chance with Westwood's kicks today mind. Wallace 4 - not sure why he came one, he needs to be played and stay wide. It doesn't work for me when he comes inside to play narrow. Joao 4 - needs to be stronger. Jones 3 - no impact at all really. Another strange sub for me. Well, I'm as disappointed as I've ever been under Carlos at home. That was so poor bar a sasso header. We wouldn't have scored in a month of Sunday's. Didn't do the simple things right. Hutch, unless making a break himself, (who was immense again by the way!) sitting as a back three meant that in possession the wide players tucking in (so why use Wallace - he got out wide about twice) meant no width, isolating the fullbacks with no one to pass to or help, unless turning back or as in the end, with Joao and FF wide and no one in middle. Virtually no-one playing in a proper position. The gaps between everyone (who all looked well off the pace bar hutch and Westwood) was ridiculous. Or we'd go over the top the other way and be on each others toes. There was no movement, especially after Lee went off. We don't move for throw ins anymore either. We managed to turn any quick possession or break into a slow procession, passed backwards. Or we'd tackle ourselves. Just leaves me scratching my head at what changes Carlos made, the tactics he was trying to implement and how he's got us playing compared to last year. Where has our tempo both with and without the ball gone?? And why?? We are regressing this season despite having a better squad. Yes I know the opposition will play us differently, but we should be building on how we played. We just haven't managed to do that in any shape or form. Last season Wed at least give it a go in the last 45 mins. We struggle to manage momentum for 15-20 this season. We were lucky to come out with a draw. Think both teams should've had pens too. No no don't want Carlos gone, but whatever it is, we need to find answers and quickly otherwise a playoff place will be a tough ask/under threat. Hawkeye
Westwood 8 Hunt 5 - solid at the back, awful going forward Lees 7 Sasso 7 - thought he was excellent today Reach 6 - he's a good player but wasted at left back, and his decision making is terrible Mcmanaman 6 - surprised he was taken off so early, thought he looked good on the right. Lee 5 - clearly injured, shouldn't have been playing Hutchinson 8 - utter warrior again, if he was in the premier league playing like that everyone would be raving about him. Bannan 6 - ran his blood to water but nothing to work with Fletcher 8 - best iv seem him play. Again strange decision to bring him off, looked a threat all game. Forestieri 4 - abysmal, either injured or not interested. couple of purple patched didn't make up for his lack of effort. Wallace 7 - should have been in from the start on that for. Joao 5 - sigh. Jones 5 Carlos - couldn't break them down today, and kept changing patterns, formations and tactics which didn't help. Shouldn't have played Lee or Forestieri today, and needs to stop pushing reach to left back. MOM fletcher, Sasso and hutch very close.
