So difficult this one. I have to agree with most of thr above. Could'nt decide between Lees, Hutch and FF. Finally plumped for Hutch, he's so cool on the ball where others would panic and the timing of his tackles was immense. If we can keep him fit he is a world class CB.

Westwood 7 - nowt to do.

Pudil 6 - didn't get forward as much, solid but nando left him exposed in 2nd half.

Lees 8 - solid against gestede, and kept mccormack quiet.

Hutch 8 - threw himself at everything, pathetically weak reffing putting him in the book.

Hunt 7 - got forward a lot, worked very well with Wallace.

Wallace 6 - didn't really click in the 2nd half but looked excellent in the 1st.

Lee 8 - worked himself into the ground, shored up our right wing and caused them all kinds of problems.

Bannan 7 - didn't get forward, but solid and composed on the ball.

Abdi 7 - looked good, faded in the 2nd half. Already linking up well with Bannan and fletcher.

Fletcher 6 - superb til he got injured. Will be key for us this season.

Forestieri 7 - Mr reliable, when we need a goal he's the one to get it. Frustrated largely, should have had three.

Hooper 6 - worked hard but too many balls at his head, needs it to chest or feet.

Nuhiu 6 - clumsy but changed our shape enough to help ****** the game.

Palmer 6 - solid and has defo bulked up. Some important interceptions.

Fans were outstanding, very similar to the Brighton game - 1st half goal and the ground would have been electric.

Carlos got all the changes right, clear wasn't happy about a few things.

Ref was weak, didn't have too much controversy to deal with. Couple of strange bookings.

Villa. well, they gave it a good go. First half they were terrible, 2nd they looked much better. Ayew was their best player, strange decision to take off mccormack. Grealish was far too weak, defensively villa will be found out. Their best hope is they outscore teams, which with that front three they have a chance.

Di matteo got his team wrong IMO. Three strikers allowed our full backs and wide men loads of space, and his substitutions failed to make an impact. Villa will be OK this season but a couple of losses early on, and the turn round could be very difficult.

If Allardyce has got one ounce of footballing brain he will build Englands 2020 World Cup squad around Hutchinson...if I was him I would be lobbying the FA to get him on a cricket style central contract and just playing him in the internationals!

Lee 8

Abdi 7 (couldn't really see him in the first half because the net obscured my view of that part of the pitch)

Forestieri 9

Fletcher 7 looked ok when he was on

Hooper 7

Nuhiu 8

Palmer 7 Did well the short time he was on

Looking at your marks for Hutchinson and Lees you had a brick wall obscuring all parts of the pitch!

You couldn't get a *** paper between Lees; Lee; Hutchinson and Fernando. Fletch too would have been a contender had he stayed on.

I went for Hutchinson enormous during the Villa crossing onslaught for 25 minutes. As for the shirt pulling none pen, it was a natural involuntary reaction to taking a big push.

Everyone played their part and the Nuihu knockers must have been very disappointed with another sound cameo from him. Well done Adte !

Hutch and Lees were magnificent today. Hard to split them, but thought Hutch for athleticism and strength just edged it.

Thought Abdi was disappointing, but only his first outing in a new team, and he will shine soon im sure.

I went for Hutchinson. Yesterday he looked like the complete centre half against a very big and athletic striker like Gestede. He was calm on the ball, looked quick and strong and didn't make a mistake all game. With Tom Lees and Hutchinson at centre half, you've got two very quick players where in the rare occasion they make the wrong decision, their pace can get them out of trouble.

Really tough call. Hutch, Lees and Forestiri impressive whole match, Abdi and Fletcher also look quality additions. Gave it FF as he not only scored the winner but looked

dangerous when near the box and he is forever putting defenders under pressure, like a little terrier.
